Get ready for more delicious meals and mysterious encounters! It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi is officially titled Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi Ni and is set to broadcast starting in Autumn 2025. The animation production will be handled by GONZO, which worked on the first season, joined by Macalia. Alongside the announcement, messages have arrived from original author Yuuma Midori, Director Yoshizaki Yuzuru, and Series Composition/Script writer Konparu Tomoko, who returns from the first season.
Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi is a yado-meshi (inn-food) fantasy series based on the light novels written by Yuuma Midori and illustrated by Laruha. The series began in April 2015 with the first volume, Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi: Ayakashi Ooyado ni Yomeiri shimasu. The story follows Tsubaki Aoi, a college student who is whisked away to the hidden realm, known as Kakuriyo, to marry an Ogre God (Onigami) to settle her grandfather’s debts. Refusing the marriage, she instead strikes a deal to open an eatery within the established inn Tenjin-ya. Through preparing meals, she weaves tales and interacts with the various ayakashi (Japanese spirits/demons) residing there, including the Ogre God Oodanna himself and a charming Nine-tailed Fox (Kyuubi no kitsune).
The original novel series spans 12 volumes, while the manga adaptations include the B’s-LOG COMICS version with 11 volumes and the Sirius KC version with 8 volumes released. The series has achieved significant popularity, boasting a cumulative total of over 2.6 million copies sold. The first TV anime season aired from April to September 2018.

Now, with the official title Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi Ni confirmed, the second season is set to deliver an even richer experience. Animation production will see the return of GONZO, bolstered by the participation of Macalia. This collaboration is described as a “synergy full throttle, super enhanced production system,” promising a high-quality adaptation for fans.

The first season of the anime concluded with Aoi-chan returning to Tenjin-ya from the southern land.
However, in the original work, the story of Aoi-chan, Oodanna-sama, Ginji-san, Tenjin-ya, and everyone in Kakuriyo continues beyond that point.
I used to think of animating the rest as a dream, something like “it would be nice if it could be animated someday,” but that dream has finally come true.
I am incredibly, incredibly looking forward to the day I can reunite with everyone in Kakuriyo, moving and speaking!
