Handsome Laundering Fan Meeting Brings Cast Together for Talk, Readings, and DLC Announcement

The first real event for the mystery adventure game Handsome Laundering -the mystic lover- (Samudari) took place on June 7, 2026, at Hachioji City Arts and Culture Hall (Icho Hall). Anime! Anime! reports on the Night performance.

The game, released on March 26, 2026, is set in a downtown laundry café called L&L café space, where rumors say the staff take on secret requests to help people in need. Players take on the role of a visitor who gets drawn into solving a case alongside the café’s colorful staff.

Seven cast members gathered for the event: Yamashita Seiichiro, Nakajima Yoshiki, Ito Kento, Kimura Ryohei, Ishikawa Kaito, Azakami Yohei, and Okamoto Nobuhiko. The pre-show announcement was handled by Suzuki Ryota as his character Kaise Hayato.

The cast appeared on a stage decorated with panels of the eight L&L characters, starting with Hanaoka Mao. They introduced themselves in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. A segment followed where they highlighted recommended points of the game, including a message from the producer that revealed behind-the-scenes details about how the characters were designed. The cast shared their personal favorite aspects of their roles, and many were touched by the producer’s kind words.

Nakajima, who plays Uto Zen, revealed that during a recording of a school festival episode where he had to switch between multiple roles, the entire booth burst into applause. The audience responded with applause as well. Ishikawa, who plays Higano Shun—a former child star—admitted feeling pressure for the role. The producer commented that Ishikawa’s performance conveyed “a tension as if a stage were right before your eyes,” to which Ishikawa joked, “Can I die happy now?”

The segment was filled with anecdotes that made fans want to revisit the drama CDs and game, showing how much care and passion the production staff poured into Samudari.

Next came the L&L café space recommended talk corner. Since the “School Secrets” chapter has the L&L members become high school students and infiltrate a school festival, the cast discussed their own youthful school memories.

Yamashita recalled a middle school festival where his theater performance inspired him to become an actor. Azakami admitted, “My school days were pitch black,” and the conversation leaned toward gloomy stories. Then Ito and Kimura shared their “many friends” experiences, creating a split between “dark” and “light” factions, and the talk heated up.

The fan letter and comment corner followed. Fans submitted their most thrilling lines and memorable scenes from the game. One passionate message read, “I will make Shun-kun happy!!!!!” which Ishikawa read aloud with a big voice, drawing laughter from the audience.

In the variety corner, the cast split into two teams for a game. They had to give one-minute themed talks while trying to get the opposing team to say a forbidden word. The short time limit made it tricky, leading to chaotic question barrages and nonsensical answers. Okamoto skillfully led the conversation to get Ito to say the forbidden word “bird,” ending the game with big laughs.

The highlight was the reading corner, featuring a story written specially for the event. The Day and Night performances had different content. In the Night show, the L&L members tried to act as substitute owner while the busy owner Tsukishiro Yoshiya was away. They debated new menu items and equipment, each showing their unique personalities in a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Finally, it was announced that a DLC (downloadable content) for Handsome Laundering -the mystic lover- would be released on June 18, 2026. The DLC, titled After Story, depicts sweet moments with the character after becoming lovers. The PV shown at the event drew cheers from the audience with its romantic lines and lover-mode scenes.

The event was packed with talk, readings, and new information, making time fly. It was a joyful time that let fans feel both the cast’s passion and their own love for Samudari. Fans can look forward to the series’ future developments.
