The production committee for the ice show “Touken Ranbu – ICE BLADE -” has released a newly drawn character visual for Hizamaru, titled “Hizamaru Image on Ice ver.” This marks the seventh character visual revealed for the event, which will take place on October 3 and 4, 2026, at the National Yoyogi Stadium First Gymnasium.
About Hizamaru
Hizamaru is a tachi (long sword) known as a treasure of the Genji clan, often mentioned alongside his brother sword Hizakiri. Legend says it was forged by Minamoto no Mitsunaka, and over the centuries it has been renamed multiple times—Kumokiri, Hoemaru, Usumidori—giving it a storied history. The new illustration, drawn specially for the show by the original staff of “Touken Ranbu ONLINE,” captures the quiet pride of a Genji heirloom and the hidden flash of brilliance within his calm demeanor, expressed through the speed and presence unique to figure skating on the silver ice.
Event Details
“Touken Ranbu – ICE BLADE -” is based on the hit sword-training simulation game “Touken Ranbu ONLINE,” which has surpassed 14 million cumulative users. Players act as a “Saniwa” (spirit medium) leading sword warriors called “Touken Danshi” to protect history. The ice show brings these characters to life on the rink.

Story
In the year 2205, the “History Revisionists” begin attacks on the past in an attempt to alter history. The government sends “Saniwa”—those who can awaken the spirits of sleeping objects and grant them the power to fight—into various eras. The manifested Tsukumogami, known as “Touken Danshi,” throw themselves into battle to protect history.
In a certain citadel guarded by the five elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water), the citadel has a special duty to monitor “False Writings”—forces that distort, rewrite, and devour true history. One day, a five-headed dragon suddenly attacks the citadel, destroying the shrines and scattering the elemental spirits into the False Writings. At that moment, the Ice Spirit awakens deep within the citadel…
Can Mikazuki Munechika and the others rescue the elemental spirits from the distorted histories created by the False Writings? A new battle of the Touken Danshi, the “Ice Blade,” begins.
