The summer anime World is Dancing has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for its second episode, titled “You Have a Body, Don’t You?” (あんたには身体があるじゃないか), which will begin airing on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
Based on the manga by Mihara Kazuto serialized in Kodansha’s Morning magazine, World is Dancing is a TV anime that reimagines the origins of Noh theater. Set in a turbulent era of constant conflict, the story follows a curious and beautiful boy named Kiyoshi (鬼夜叉) as he meets people, laughs, cries, confronts his own inadequacies, and gradually shapes a new dance to live in an impermanent world. This is a dancing story that may have taken place when Zeami was still called Kiyoshi, continuing across 600 years.
Directed by Kuroyanagi Toshimasa, known for Fune wo Amu, Bakuten!!, and Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare, the animation is produced by Cypic, the studio behind Uma Musume Cinderella Gray and Hikari ga Shinda Natsu.
The cast includes Hanamori Yumiri as Kiyoshi, Tsuchiya Shinpei as Ishiya, Uchida Maaya as Kogane, Park Romi as Masujirō, Sakurai Takahiro as Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, Konishi Katsuyuki as Kan’ami, Matsuda Yoji as Inuō, Tobita Nobuo as Nijō Yoshimoto, Noto Mamiko as Gōshi, Minase Inori as Chiharu, Sawashiro Miyuki as Shirabyōshi, Ishitani Haruki as Sōjūrō, and Seto Hazuki as Satsuki.
Episode 2 Synopsis
Captivated by the “yoi” (dance), Kiyoshi wants to be able to dance like that himself. Together with his friends Kogane and Ishiya, he begins visiting the shirabyōshi dancer.
A certain encounter with her becomes the catalyst that changes Kiyoshi’s dance—but it is not only Kiyoshi’s dance that changes.
