The summer anime Ushiro no Shoumen Kamui-san has released a synopsis and advance scene cuts for its second episode, titled “Kokkuri-san,” which will begin airing on July 10, 2026 (Friday).
Based on the manga by Eroki (story) and Konoshiro Shinko (art), serialized on Shogakukan’s MangaONE platform, Ushiro no Shoumen Kamui-san is a horror comedy. The story follows Shizuka, a self-proclaimed ordinary high school girl who can “only” see ghosts. Using her special constitution that attracts spirits, she works as an assistant to the famous psychic Kamui. Kamui possesses overwhelming spiritual power, but his exorcism methods are unprecedented. Will Shizuka ever find peace amidst the supernatural chaos? The curtain rises on “super” exorcism.
The anime is produced by Wave’s “Deregula” label, known for handling short anime in the so-called “monk slot” category, specializing in stimulating content. Directed by Tsukumo Takumi, animation production is handled by Zero-G and ZG-R. The cast is shared between the on-air version and the complete Deregula version (uncensored): Kamui is voiced by Sugita Tomokazu, Mimizuka Shizuka by Aono Rishin, Oichi by M・A・O, Kyoko by Aisaka Yuka, and Inagawa by Izawa Shiori.
Episode 2 “Kokkuri-san” Synopsis
Shizuka, who hides her psychic constitution, hopes for a fun student life as a “normal student.” But her peace is shattered when her friend Inagawa brings a “Kokkuri-san sheet.”
The evil hand of Kokkuri-san, who appears in response to Inagawa and the others’ summoning, approaches Shizuka.
