Summer anime Nijusseiki Denki Mokuroku – Yuureka Evurika has released a synopsis and advance scene cuts for its second episode, titled “The Mystery of the Catalog” (第貮話「目録の謎」), which begins airing on July 12, 2026.
The series is based on the light novel Nijusseiki Denki Mokuroku by Yuki Hiro, which received the Encouragement Prize at the 8th Kyoto Animation Awards. Directed by Oota Minoru at Kyoto Animation, the story is a steampunk adventure set in an alternate early 20th-century Kyoto where steam power dominates and the city is shrouded in smoke. It follows a skeptical boy who lost his brother and a devout girl burdened by regret as they seek the secrets of the “Twentieth Century Electric Catalog” — a dream of an age of electricity.
Episode 2 Synopsis
The missing “Twentieth Century Electric Catalog” reappears. Kihachi doubts its authenticity while Ineko believes it is real. Yousuke closes in on them.
Kihachi tries to resist with his homemade inventions but is defeated by the power of steam, and Ineko and the catalog fall into Yousuke’s hands.
To learn the truth, Kihachi sneaks into the Momokawa residence and discovers that Ineko is being forced into an unwanted marriage with Yousuke for the sake of her family. He rescues Ineko from the storehouse where she was locked up, but Yousuke spots them and gives chase.
Can Kihachi and Ineko successfully escape from Yousuke, who is relentlessly pursuing the Electric Catalog?!
Broadcast and Streaming Information
Episode 2 of Nijusseiki Denki Mokuroku – Yuureka Evurika will air on July 12, 2026 (Sunday) on ABC TV, TOKYO MX, TV Aichi, and BS11. The series is also available worldwide exclusively on Netflix, with new episodes streaming every Sunday from 23:00 JST starting July 5.
