Production company NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan has opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of ippatu’s Toratsugumi: Tsugumi Project manga, revealing a teaser visual and teaser promotional video.
Ippatu originally published the action survival manga in France through publisher Ki-oon in July 2019. Kodansha began serializing the manga in Weekly Young Magazine from January 2021 to September 2023. The seventh and final volume was subsequently published in November 2023.
Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in July 2022 and released the seventh volume in September 2025.
Synopsis
In the distant future, the region once known as Japan has transformed into a deadly wasteland teeming with high radiation and bizarre monsters. This forbidden zone has long been uninhabitable for humans.
The story centers on Leon, a man framed for a crime he didn’t commit, torn away from his wife and child, and sent to death row. To survive, he is forced to take on a highly classified, perilous mission with only two outcomes: success or death.
In the heart of this lethal territory, Leon encounters a variety of strange creatures—from a mysterious young girl to colossal beasts—that will forever change his fate.
