Manga artist Yazawa Ai’s iconic heroines are getting a new kind of spotlight. Urumia, a popular colored contact lens brand, has announced a collaboration with four of Yazawa’s beloved works: NANA, Kino Neighbourhood Story (Gokinjo Monogatari), Angel Sanctuary (Tenshi Nanka Janai), and Paradise Kiss. The result is a five-shade collection called “Urumia × Ai Yazawa ‘Heroine Collection’.” Pre-orders open on July 29, 2026, at 20:00 JST via the official Urumia online shop, with pop-up stores in Tokyo and Osaka to follow.

Each lens design draws from the gaze and aura of a specific heroine, capturing the timeless appeal of these characters. Here is the full lineup:
1. ‘NANA’ Osaki Nana Veil Black
Inspired by Nana Osaki’s charismatic, unapologetic presence and fragile beauty. A black rim defines the eye, while a gray highlight adds a moist, luminous effect—balancing strength with a soft afterglow.
2. ‘NANA’ Komatsu Nana Drop Pink
Reflecting Nana Komatsu’s sweet, pure gaze that melts hearts. A pink rim with a gentle brown overlay creates a naturally flushed, dewy look with depth.
3. ‘Kino Neighbourhood Story’ Kouda Mikako Dolly Brown
Mikako Kouda’s dreamy, forward-looking eyes are captured in brown. A doll-like brown rim paired with bright rose-brown gives a dramatic, sweet impression.
4. ‘Angel Sanctuary’ Saejima Midori Glow Olive
Midori Saejima’s gentle, trustworthy gaze is rendered in olive. An olive-gray rim with a glowing olive highlight produces a clear, bright, and pure look.

Purchasing any collaboration product comes with a special Urumia membership card designed to look like a heroine’s own card. It attaches to bags or pouches via a keychain.
