The total men’s care brand “Success” by Kaou has unveiled two collaborative web commercials featuring Katsuragi Misato (voiced by Mitsuishi Kotono) and Kaji Ryouji (voiced by Yamadera Kouichi) from the Evangelion series. Titled “Shuuroku Genba Hen” (Recording Studio Version) and “Sakusen Hatsudou Hen” (Operation Start Version), these commercials are part of the “Touhi Care Sakusen” (Scalp Care Operation) collaboration between “Success” and Evangelion. The campaign also includes a chance to win original merchandise through a lottery for those who purchase eligible products.
A Legacy That Continues to Captivate
The Evangelion series first exploded onto the scene with the Shin Seiki Evangelion TV series in 1995, quickly becoming a social phenomenon. It was rebooted as the Evangelion Shin Gekijouban (Evangelion New Theatrical Edition) series starting in 2007, planned, written, and overseen by Soukantoku Anno Hideaki. The first three films, : Jo, : Ha, and : Kyuu, were released to massive box office success.

This latest collaboration web commercial project brings together two fan-favorite characters: Katsuragi Misato, who captivates audiences with her mature charm, and Kaji Ryouji, admired as the ideal man by many male viewers. They appear as the commanders of the “Touhi Care Sakusen.” The commercials feature newly recorded voice lines by Mitsuishi Kotono as Katsuragi Misato and Yamadera Kouichi as Kaji Ryouji, alongside original animation created specifically for this project.
The “Shuuroku Genba Hen” commercial offers a peek behind the scenes, showing Katsuragi Misato and Kaji Ryouji being cast for the “Touhi Care Sakusen” web CM and recording the “Sakusen Hatsudou Hen.” Pay attention to the unique and relatable yet slightly unusual banter between these two characters, especially given their history as former lovers.
