The TV anime World is Dancing (ワールド イズ ダンシング) is currently airing on TOKYO MX, BS Asahi, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, and other stations. To commemorate the start of episode 5 on July 30, Chuuya Koyama, the creator of Space Brothers (宇宙兄弟) who recently concluded that series, has contributed a special congratulatory illustration.

About the Anime
World is Dancing is based on the Noh-themed manga by Kazuto Mihara, serialized in Kodansha’s Morning. Set in a turbulent era of constant conflict, the story follows a beautiful, curious boy named Kiyasha as he meets people, laughs, cries, and confronts his own inadequacies while forging a new dance that will live on in an impermanent world. This is a dancing story that spans 600 years, imagining the time when Zeami—the founder of Noh—was known as Kiyasha.

Congratulatory Illustrations
Koyama and Mihara were both serializing manga in Morning around the same time, and this illustration serves as a connection between the two creators. Koyama’s rendition of Kiyasha captures the character in an impressive dancing pose, drawn in his distinctive style.
Previously, the anime also received congratulatory illustrations from Inoue Takehiko—creator of Slam Dunk and Vagabond, whom Mihara once assisted—for episode 1, and from TNSK, author of Torimatomari (serialized in good! Afternoon), for episode 2.
Episode 5 Details
Episode 5, titled “Moe deru Kodou” (萌え出る鼓動), began airing on July 30. In this episode, Kiyasha finally encounters the Dengaku Shinza troupe led by Masujiro.
