Fans of Miya Kazuki’s popular isekai fantasy series, **Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen**, have reason to celebrate! At the Yomiuri panel held during Anime Expo 2025, exciting news was revealed regarding the next installment of the anime adaptation. The upcoming season, officially titled **Honzuki no Gekokujou: Ryoushu no Youjo**, which adapts the third part of the original light novel series (also known in English as *Ascendance of a Bookworm: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke*), is slated to premiere in April 2026, as part of the Spring 2026 anime season. The announcement included the reveal of key production staff, a teaser visual, and a teaser promotional video.

This new season sees some changes in the creative team, bringing a fresh perspective while retaining core members. The reveal included the director, series composer, character designer, and music composer, alongside the animation studio.

These seasons were streamed by **Crunchyroll** with various subtitles and dubs, making the series accessible to a global audience. **Sentai Filmworks** also licensed the first two seasons and released them for home video in January 2021. The transition to **WIT Studio** for the upcoming season marks a new phase for the anime adaptation.
Tracing the Bestselling Source Material
The story of **Honzuki no Gekokujou** originates from the web novel written by Miya Kazuki, which was serialized on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website from September 2013 to March 2017. **TO Books** picked up the series for print publication starting in January 2015, featuring illustrations by You Shiina. The light novel wrapped up with its 33rd and final volume published in December 2023. The series has achieved impressive success, with a cumulative total of 12 million copies in circulation.
The popular series has also inspired several manga adaptations. Suzuka serialized the manga adapting the first part of the light novel on the Comic Corona web magazine from October 2015 to July 2018. Suzuka then continued by adapting the second part in the same magazine, which began in September 2018 and currently has 12 volumes available as of February 15th. Ryou Namino began serializing a manga adaptation of the third part in April 2018, while Hikaru Katsuki started adapting the fourth part in December 2022.
