The official website for the second season of the Tensei shitara Ken deshita television anime has revealed an additional pair of cast members, a key visual, theme song details, and the second promotional video. The new season is set to premiere on October 8 at 12:00 a.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by ABC TV, BS Asahi, and AT-X.
Additional Cast
Voice actors Shiori Izawa and Show Hayami are joining the cast as Nanashi and Lich, respectively.
Theme Songs
Musical band FZMZ will perform the opening theme “DREAM OF BUTTERFLY,” while HANABIE will perform the ending theme “Baribari Buddy.” Both songs are previewed in the second promotional video.
Staff
Shinji Ishihira returns to direct the second season at C2C. Takahiro Nagano is handling series composition and script, Atsuko Saitou is designing the characters, and Yasuharu Takanashi is composing the music.
The first season, also produced by C2C, aired in 12 episodes in Fall 2022.
Source Material
Yuu Tanaka began writing the action fantasy novel, abbreviated as TenKen, on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in October 2015. Micro Magazine has been publishing the title under its GC Novels imprint since July 2016, with illustrations by LLO. The 20th volume was released in October 2025, and the 21st volume is scheduled for September 30.
A manga adaptation by Tomoo Maruyama began on the Denshi Birz (later Comic Boost) website in December 2016. Gentosha published the 19th volume on March 24.
A spin-off manga by Hinako Inoue, subtitled Another Wish, began serialization in Comic Ride in June 2020. Micro Magazine shipped the sixth volume in March 2023.
Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the light novel, manga, and spin-off manga in English. The 19th light novel volume went on sale on August 4, with the 20th volume scheduled for January 2027. The 17th manga volume was released on June 9, and the 18th is scheduled for November 3. The sixth spin-off volume was released in June 2023.
