Summer anime Yoroiden Shin Samurai Troopers aired its 19th episode, “Toukai,” on August 18, 2026. The episode picks up after the loss of Shion and the return of Ryusei, as the Samurai Troopers engage in battle with Gaimei, the gatekeeper of the first checkpoint. With the climax approaching, the Ten Braves finally join the fray, and the episode delivers a major awakening that has fans buzzing.

The Ten Braves Finally Join the Fight
Once loyal servants of the demon emperor Ramaga, the Ten Braves were originally enemies of the Samurai Troopers. But after realizing Ramaga saw them only as tools—and after losing half their comrades to his cruelty—they turned against him. Now, with a common enemy in the Tenkai Realm, they have grown closer to the Samurai Troopers and rediscovered human warmth.
In this episode, they finally join the battle against Gaimei, who had been giving the Samurai Troopers trouble. Though they have not yet mastered their ultimate techniques, their presence is a huge morale boost. Fans noted their excellent teamwork and the strength of their newfound alliance.
Gaimei’s Motivation and Sagume’s Kindness
Gaimei, one of the Four Beast Warriors, has his own reasons for fighting. The Four Beast Warriors appeared in the Tenkai Realm without knowing who they were. Sagume took them in, providing food, clothing, and shelter while working hard herself, acting as a mother and guide. Her innocent smile and diligent nature—like milking cows—made fans sympathize with her. Gaimei, in turn, fights seriously to follow Sagume’s orders.
Training and Growing Bonds
The Ten Braves had been training to master their secret techniques, but they were initially unsure what it meant to be a hero. Seeing Kai and the others training late into the night inspired them to push themselves harder. The Samurai Troopers even gave them official T-shirts, which they cherished. Fans loved these heartwarming moments, with some joking about wanting merchandise of the Ten Braves’ training gear or Sasuke with his bangs down.
The Awakening: A Legendary Secret Revealed
During the battle with Gaimei, the Ten Braves finally awakened. Sasuke’s heart revealed the character “勇” (Yu), while Saizou, Isanyuudou, Seikai Nyuudou, and Kamanosuke displayed “忠” (Chuu), “孝” (Kou), “悌” (Tei), and “忍” (Nin) respectively. Fans were thrilled, but the real shock came with the revelation about “勇.”
In the original Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, the four demon generals bore the characters “忠,” “孝,” “悌,” and “忍.” The “勇” character was the missing piece—a phantom character. When Kaosu divided the armor of the demon emperor Arago, he attempted to create a tenth Yoroi Gia by infusing it with a human heart, but the head part escaped before the infusion, becoming the incomplete Arago. The “勇” heart later became the noble demon Kenbukyou, who appeared before Ryou with the Black Flame King and the Gouretsuken.
Thus, the Ten Braves’ awakening completes the first full team of ten warriors—something the original series never achieved. This revelation sent chills down fans’ spines, with many exclaiming “Goosebumps!” and praising the incredible Ougi scenes.
Victory and a New Threat
With the Ten Braves’ support, the Samurai Troopers finally succeeded in activating the “Shin no Haitei” (True Overlord) and defeated Gaimei. But their joy was short-lived—Ramaga, who had been waiting for this moment, took over Kai’s body once again.
