On August 20, the official McDonald’s X account posted a video titled “Ghost Story ‘The Returned 500-yen Coin’ Narrator: Okamoto Nobuhiko.” The clip shows a McDonald’s store with a dim, eerie atmosphere, and introduces a set meal that still gives change from a 1,000-yen bill. Okamoto is no stranger to horror content, having appeared in numerous “ghost story reading” events, so his involvement is a perfect fit. Fans have taken to X to share their reactions, with comments like “Stop making me jump at the end ww,” “I can’t believe such a simple topic can be this scary,” “I thought it was a real horror story,” and “The quality is incredibly high.”
