The first-ever original art exhibition dedicated to Kazuki Takahashi, creator of the iconic Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, will be held at CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO from December 12, 2026, to February 21, 2027. Titled “Kazuki Takahashi Original Art Exhibition YU-GI-OH! ART WORKS,” the event commemorates the 30th anniversary of the manga’s serialization. Ticket lottery applications begin September 14.
Beyond manga, Takahashi’s work profoundly influenced the gaming world. As a manga artist, character designer, game creator, and monster designer, he showcased a rare and multifaceted talent. This exhibition explores the imaginative wellspring behind his globally beloved creations, presenting over 370 original manuscripts, color illustrations, production materials, and rough sketches—many of which are being shown for the first time.
The exhibition is structured as a journey through five chapters, guiding visitors through Takahashi’s expressive universe alongside the story of Yu-Gi-Oh!.
Introduction – The starting point of the journey.
Chapter I: Character Designer – Featuring over 370 original drawings, color illustrations from during and after serialization, and never-before-seen rough sketches from the creative process.
Chapter II: Game Creator
Chapter IV: Storyteller – Centering on Yu-Gi-Oh!, which has expanded into TV anime and official card games, this chapter traces the origins of Takahashi’s storytelling and the core ideas behind his “original story.”
For those opting for goods-attached tickets, a special bonus item called “Duel King’s Proof” is included. This collection piece recreates the three Egyptian Gods—Osiris the Sky Dragon, Obelisk the Tormentor, and Ra the Winged Dragon—based on their original in-story designs with luxurious finishing. After the exhibition closes, this item will be available for order regardless of ticket purchase.
Visitors will also receive a random two-layer sticker from seven types, titled “My Turn!! Double Sticker.” Peeling the first sticker reveals a second one, capturing the thrill of a draw.
Original merchandise will be available, including acrylic MEGA figures of Mutou Yugi and Kaiba Seto, speech-bubble-shaped acrylic keychains, a “Lost King’s Memory Stone Tablet Cushion,” art coasters, relief plates, monster standing clip collections, a full-color bath towel, and a monster acrylic card collection book. More items are expected to be announced.
A Millennium Puzzle photo spot will be featured under Chapter IV: Monster Designer.
The exhibition runs from December 12, 2026, to February 21, 2027, at CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO (TODA BUILDING 6F, 1-7-1 Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo). It is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00, with last entry 30 minutes before closing.
