The cover of “anan 2514-gou Shin Tennis no Oujisama Special Edition” (releasing October 7, 2026) features Atobe Keigo from the anime Shin Tennis no Oujisama. Voice actor Suwabe Junichi, who plays the character, posted a photo on X that recreated the same pose, and fans are celebrating.
The original Tennis no Oujisama manga by Konomi Takeshi began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999, with the TV anime starting in 2001. The latest anime, Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 WORLD CUP Kesshou Member Ketteisen, begins airing on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, and TV Aichi on September 30, 2026. In the story, the Japanese team defeated Germany to advance to the finals, and under Director Mifune’s decision, players who fought together as teammates now compete for a spot in the final match against Spain.
For the magazine cover, the official artwork shows Atobe sitting confidently in a black suit with his legs crossed. Suwabe responded by posting a photo of himself in a similar black outfit and pose, writing: “When a real 50-something man who happens to be his acquaintance does a similar pose, this is what happens. There is an unbridgeable distance… Oh, but I can produce a voice so similar that no one can tell the difference (laughs).”
