Douse, Koi Shiteshimaunda. (which can be translated as “No Matter What, I’ll Fall in Love”) is based on the popular manga by Mitsui Haruka, serialized in Kodansha’s “Nakayoshi” magazine. This heartwarming school romance story follows the intricate love life of Nishino Miho, our protagonist, and her four male childhood companions, who have grown up together like family.
The story begins on July 1, 2020, as Miho, a second-year high school student, experiences a truly miserable 17th birthday. Not only does she lose her chance to get closer to her admired senpai, but her parents completely forget her birthday. On top of that, with club competitions and school trips canceled due to an unknown infectious disease, she thought, “I’ll never have a ‘sparkling youth’.”
However, just then, her childhood friend, Hazawa Kizuki, suddenly declared himself a “boyfriend candidate.” Confused by Kizuki’s actions, and then by Kashiwagi Jin’s confession of feelings, Miho is left bewildered. Furthermore, Izumi Ai and Hoshikawa Shuugo also begin to pursue their own romantic interests, causing the dynamic among the five friends to start shifting dramatically.
