A new cosplay event is coming to Nagoya Station’s iconic Nana-chan Street. Titled “Meieki Cosplay in Nana-chan Street” (abbreviated as Meikos), the event will take place on November 21, 2026, across Nana-chan Street, Meitetsu Grand Hotel, and other nearby venues.
Event Background
The event is a new initiative from WCS, the organization behind the World Cosplay Summit (CosSummit), which has brought cosplayers from around the globe to Nagoya. The 2026 edition saw participation from 40 countries and regions. WCS, which has previously organized events in the Sakae and Osu areas, will now expand to the Meieki district for the first time, with plans to eventually connect the two areas and energize the city center.
The event aims to create a lively atmosphere from day to night, encouraging visitors to stay, explore, and even book overnight stays. By leveraging the international recognition of CosSummit, the organizers hope to showcase Nagoya’s appeal to fans both in Japan and abroad.
Event Highlights
On the day, attendees can enjoy cosplay photography and socializing, a cosplay runway stage, a cosplay performance stage, an anime song DJ stage, and food trucks. The event is designed to be enjoyable for a wide range of people, not just cosplayers.
Hotel and Tickets
The Meitetsu Grand Hotel, which will serve as the changing room venue, is offering an official accommodation plan starting September 3 at 12:00. The plan includes discounted event participation and changing room tickets, as well as all-day photography access on the hotel’s 12th floor during the event, making it convenient for cosplayers traveling from afar.
Tickets go on sale September 5 at 10:00 via CN Playguide. There are three sales periods: early bird, pre-sale, and same-day. Ticket types include cosplay changing room, cosplay participation, camera/general participation, and a special photography pass for the Meitetsu Grand Hotel.
Event Details
The event will run from 12:00 to 21:00, with changing rooms available from 11:00 to 21:30 and participation ticket reception from 12:00 to 20:00. Venues include Nana-chan Street, Meitetsu Grand Hotel, Nishiyanagi Park, and Meitetsu Shops. The event is organized by WCS Co., Ltd., with special sponsorship from Nagoya Railroad Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, Ltd., sponsorship from CN Playguide, and support from NAGOYA Central City Conference. The event will proceed rain or shine, and details are subject to change.
