Original anime film Chou Kaguya-hime! is set to return to theaters in special formats and its regular version starting September 18, 2026. Along with the revival, the production has announced a lineup of visitor benefits, limited merchandise, and new promotional details that fans won’t want to miss.

Set in the virtual world of Tsukuyomi, Chou Kaguya-hime! follows the bonds formed between girls through the power of song, weaving together elements of livestreaming, music concerts, and social media culture. The film earned widespread attention after its Netflix debut in January 2026, followed by a theatrical release on February 20. Although initially planned for just one week, overwhelming demand led to sold-out screenings, a cumulative attendance of 1.2 million, and a box office gross exceeding 2.5 billion yen, extending its run through June 18.
Visitor Benefits by Format
For the revival screenings, the following audience gifts will be distributed:
- Regular version / MX4D / Dolby Atmos: An A5-sized illustration board featuring the “Fanatic Omatsuri Girl” group artwork, distributed from September 18 to 24.
- 4DX: A paper clip designed with the “ray Chou Kaguya-hime! Version” artwork.
- SCREENX / ULTRA 4DX: A gold leaf sticker featuring a scene cut from the same version.
These items are exclusive to the screenings and are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
New Theatrical Goods and History Book
Starting September 18, theaters will offer a fresh lineup of merchandise, including figures and accessories featuring Kaguya, Sakayori Ayaha, and Tsukimi Yachiyo in their newly designed “Fanatic Omatsuri Girl” outfits, as well as products using scene cuts from “ray Chou Kaguya-hime! Version.”

In addition, the official pamphlet will be released as the Chou Kaguya-hime! Official History Book. This commemorative volume compiles the film’s journey, from early planning documents and storyboards to numerous music videos and behind-the-scenes material. It will be sold at screenings and through Shochiku’s official online store, anime Froovie.
Post-Film Music Videos
The beloved tradition of screening a music video after the main feature continues for the revival. The regular and Dolby Atmos versions will play “Reply,” while MX4D, 4DX, SCREENX, and ULTRA 4DX will feature “ray Chou Kaguya-hime! Version.” Each format offers unique visual and audio presentations, making every experience distinct.
Limited-Edition Drink Cup Holder
To commemorate the revival, a special Tsukuyomi photo-spot drink cup holder will be available at T-Joy chain theaters and other participating venues. Two designs are offered: “Tsukuyomi ver.” and “Shinsen ver.” (choose one), priced at 1,800 yen (tax included) at T-Joy locations. A random acrylic stand featuring the Tsukuyomi shrine gate is included (8 types total).

The revival screenings begin September 18, with benefits and goods available only during this run. Don’t miss the chance to experience this phenomenon on the big screen once again.
