
The official website for the television anime adaptation of Ryuto‘s light novel series Mezametara Saikyou Soubi to Uchuusenmochi Datta node, Ikkodate Mezashite Youhei toshite Jiyuu ni Ikitai (Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship!) has unveiled additional cast, staff, a key visual, theme song details, and the first promotional video. The series is scheduled to premiere on October 4 at 9:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by AT-X, BS11, and other stations.

Voice actresses Kana Ueda (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works) and Saori Oonishi (Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san) are joining the cast as Shouko and Mei, respectively.

Theme Songs
Japanese rock band FLOW is performing the opening theme “UNSTOPPABLE.” Rock band ASTERISM is performing the ending theme “MY WAY.” The opening theme is previewed in the first promotional video.
Director and Series Composition
Norihiko Nagahama is directing the anime at Studio A-CAT, with series composition by Takamitsu Kouno. Character designs are by Masami Sueoka, sound direction by Jin Aketagawa, and music by Kenta Higashiooji.
Novel and Manga
Ryuto began penning the isekai sci-fi novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in February 2019. Kadokawa began printing the series under its Kadokawa Books label in July that year, featuring illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. The 17th volume went on sale on May 9.
Shunichi Matsui began serializing a manga adaptation on the ComicWalker website (now KadoComi) in November 2019. Kadokawa published the 11th volume on March 23.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and manga in English in December 2020 and February 2021, respectively. The 16th novel volume was released digitally on August 20, with the physical edition scheduled for a September 22 release. The tenth manga volume went on sale March 31, with the 11th volume planned for an October 20 release.
