Sumikko Gurashi characters are trading their cozy corners for school uniforms in the new “Sumikko High School” collection from San-x. The series imagines the beloved cast—Shirokuma, Penguin?, Tonkatsu, Neko, Tokage, and more—heading off to campus life.
Launching as part of the Sumikko Gurashi Collection’s 10th anniversary (which was marked in 2025), this new line focuses on the characters in stylish school attire, offering plush toys and accessories that let fans dress them up or take them along. The characters have also been featured in a TV anime and four theatrical films.
Plush Lineup
The “Te no Ri Plush” series includes six designs, featuring a grass with a sweater and a teacher-like octopus. For pairs, the “Te no Ri Plush Set” offers two combinations: Penguin? & Tapioca, and Tonkatsu (Aage Gal?) & Ebi Fry no Shippo (Aage Gal?)—complete with Penguin’s hairstyle and Tonkatsu’s extra crispy appearance.
Meanwhile, the “Hanging Plush” with keychain parts includes Aji Fry no Shippo and Ebi Ten no Shippo, who transform into “age gal” versions with matching uniform colors.
Dress-Up & Accessories
For outfit changes, the “Secret O-kaeshi Sumikko” (random, all 6 types) lets you dress your favorite plush in different school outfits—uniforms, jerseys, blazers, and a secret design. The plush itself is not included.
Additional highlights include the school-bag-shaped “Odekake Sumikko,” the “Sumikko Rucksack” (two designs) for commuter style, and a “Wall Pocket” made of plush material for home decoration.
