The 12th and final episode of Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru II ended on Thursday with the announcement that a third season is in production. The official website also revealed a new announcement visual for the series.
The anime is produced by Passione and Hayabusa Film. The first season aired for 12 episodes in Spring 2025, and the second season premiered on July 8. Amazon Prime streamed the anime worldwide with subtitles.
Source Material and Release History
The series adapts the fantasy adventure light novel by Sagazaki Shigeru, which began on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in November 2020. Square Enix started publishing the light novel under its SQEX Novel imprint in April 2021, with illustrations by Nabeshima Tetsuhiro. The 11th volume was released on August 6, and the series has a cumulative 11 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
A manga adaptation by Satou Kazuki launched in Young Champion magazine in August 2021. Akita Shoten shipped the ninth volume on June 26.
English Releases
J-Novel Club licensed the light novel in English in October 2023. The tenth volume went on sale on August 10. Yen Press licensed the manga in March 2024 and shipped the sixth volume on September 22.
