The official X account for Desert magazine has announced that Yamamori Mika‘s school romance manga Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki will end with its next chapter. The 45th and final chapter is scheduled for the December 2026 issue of Desert, which goes on sale on October 23.
Yamamori launched the series in Desert in July 2020. Kodansha released the 11th volume on September 11, and the manga has a cumulative 8.2 million copies in circulation.
Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in June 2021 and published the ninth volume on April 14. The series ranked fourth in the Female Readers’ Top 20 of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings in 2022 and 11th in 2023.
Anime and Live-Action Adaptations
A 12-episode television anime produced by East Fish Studio and Atelier Peuplier aired in Winter 2026. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles in multiple languages and an English dub.
A live-action film adaptation is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on October 23.
Story
Takiguchi Yoi is known as her school’s prince because of her boyish appearance and casual disposition. Her female classmates admire her, but she stays indifferent to the attention. Her days pass normally until the school’s other prince, Ichimura Kohaku, appears and calls her beautiful.
Ichimura is not much like a prince, acting thoughtlessly and doing as he pleases. His compliment leaves Takiguchi flustered, and the way he looks at her makes her nervous. He is the first boy to acknowledge her as a girl, and her attempts to distance herself prove futile as he seems to set his sights on her. While Takiguchi keeps telling herself it is nothing serious, she cannot completely ignore the stir he causes in her heart.
