Become Mahito from Kimitachi wa Dou Ikiruka! Ghibli Park’s “Ghibli no Narikiri Meibamen-ten” Undergoes First Major Renewal!

Ghibli Park, the captivating theme park that brings the enchanting worlds of Studio Ghibli films to life, is set to refresh its popular “Ghibli no Narikiri Meibamen-ten” (Ghibli’s Role-Playing Famous Scenes Exhibition) this winter.

About Ghibli Park

Located within Aichi-ken Nagakute-shi’s Ai・Chikyuuhaku Kinen Kouen, Ghibli Park is a unique park facility dedicated to the breathtaking universes of Studio Ghibli’s beloved works. Since its grand opening in November 2022 with areas such as “Ghibli no Oogura” (Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse), “Seishun no Oka” (Hill of Youth), and “Dondoko Mori” (Dondoko Forest), the park has continued to expand. November 2023 saw the addition of “Mononoke no Sato” (Mononoke Village), followed by “Majo no Tani” (Valley of Witches) in March 2024, completing the current five-area layout.

“Ghibli no Narikiri Meibamen-ten” Gets a Makeover

Among the park’s many attractions, “Ghibli no Narikiri Meibamen-ten,” housed in “Ghibli no Oogura,” has been a fan favorite since the park’s inception in November 2022. This immersive, interactive exhibition invites visitors to step directly into iconic scenes from Studio Ghibli films and become their favorite characters. This winter marks its very first renewal since opening, with a significant refresh that will see half of its 14 corners—a total of seven exhibits—completely transformed.

New Exhibits to Immerse Yourself In

Get ready to dive into fresh experiences, including a brand-new corner dedicated to the latest masterpiece, Kimitachi wa Dou Ikiruka (which can be translated as *The Boy and the Heron*). Here, you can embody the protagonist, Mahito, as he confronts his Ooji (great-uncle) alongside Himi in a truly memorable moment.

Additionally, new exhibits will be introduced from the captivating short film On Your Mark, the charming family tale Houhokekyo Tonari no Yamada-kun (also known as *My Neighbors the Yamadas*), and the delightful anthology Ghiblies episode2.

However, as exciting new additions arrive, some beloved corners will bid farewell. Four exhibits will conclude on December 1st: those inspired by Umi ga Kikoeru (also known as *Ocean Waves*), Kaze Tachinu (also known as *The Wind Rises*), Omoide no Marnie (also known as *When Marnie Was There*), and the unforgettable scene from Tenkuu no Shiro Laputa (also known as *Castle in the Sky*) where Sheeta descends from the sky.

The new exhibitions are scheduled to officially open on December 17, 2025.

Savoia S-21 Takes Flight at Rotanda Kazegaoka

Beyond the exhibition refresh, another exciting development awaits visitors! Starting November 1, 2025, the iconic “Savoia S-21” seaplane from Kurenai no Buta (also known as *Porco Rosso*) will be proudly displayed at Rotanda Kazegaoka, the cafeteria located at the North Entrance Plaza of Ai・Chikyuuhaku Kinen Kouen, home to Ghibli Park. To celebrate this grand arrival, Rotanda Kazegaoka will undergo a renovation, reopening as a themed cafeteria offering menus like Neapolitan pasta, crafted to perfectly evoke the spirit of the “Savoia S-21.”

This stunning wooden art piece of the “Savoia S-21” was previously featured in the “Ghibli no Rittai Zoukeibutsu-ten” (Ghibli’s Three-Dimensional Sculptural Works Exhibition), which concluded in Tokyo on September 23. Following the exhibition’s closure, the model will be relocated and newly presented at Rotanda Kazegaoka.

Consequently, Rotanda Kazegaoka will be temporarily closed for renovation work from September 26 to October 31. Details regarding the refreshed menu after the renewal will be announced at a later date on the Ghibli Park official website.
