“Evangelion” 30th Anniversary Exhibition: Hand-Drawn Original Art, Rare Cel Art on Display! Special “14-Year-Old” Themed Tickets Debut!? Latest Information Revealed.

The 30th Anniversary Exhibition “ALL OF EVANGELION,” gathering production materials from the Evangelion series, is set to be held from November 14, 2025, to January 12, 2026, at the Tokyo City View (Roppongi Hills Mori Tower 52F) observation deck in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo. The key visual for the exhibition has just been unveiled, along with new exhibition details and information on Tokyo venue-exclusive tickets.

About the “ALL OF EVANGELION” Exhibition

“ALL OF EVANGELION” is a special exhibition commemorating the 30th anniversary of Shin Seiki Evangelion (also known as *Neon Genesis Evangelion*), which first aired on October 4, 1995. It promises to unveil an unprecedented collection of production materials from the entire Evangelion series, tracing its evolution all the way to Shin Evangelion Gekijouban (also known as *Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time*), which was released on March 8, 2021.

The journey begins at the entrance, where a massive Evangelion Unit-01 figure is dramatically displayed against the breathtaking panoramic view from the observation deck. Inside, visitors will find production materials for the animated visuals, including original settings from the TV anime series and original drawings from the new theatrical film series, showcased on a scale never seen before. This exhibition offers a unique glimpse into how the grand world of the Evangelion series was brought to life.

An Immersive Entrance Experience

Located on the 52nd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, offering stunning views of Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Bay, the venue’s entrance features an impressively weighty Evangelion Unit-01 figure. After sunset, a Tokyo venue-exclusive lighting production will brilliantly illuminate the space, transforming it into a vibrant celebration of the 30th anniversary.

Tracing the Origins: The Prologue

Before the broadcast of the Shin Seiki Evangelion TV anime began on October 4, 1995, an immense amount of trial and error went into its creation. In the “Prologue” area, visitors can catch a glimpse into the eve of the Evangelion series’ birth, utilizing “setting materials”—essentially the blueprints of the work—used during its animation production.

Chapter 1: The Art of Cel Animation

During the original broadcast of Shin Seiki Evangelion, cel animation was the standard production method. This involved painting characters and elements onto transparent cel sheets, which were then layered and photographed to create fluid, continuous motion. Parts like eyes and mouths were often separated to achieve nuanced expressions. In “Chapter 1,” with the cooperation of the NPO Animation Tokusatsu Archive Center (ATAC), founded by Anno Hideaki to manage and preserve animation and special effects materials, approximately 270 precious cel sheets have been carefully selected from over 10,000 existing cuts and will be on display.

Chapter 2: The Soundscape of Evangelion

Evangelion is renowned not only for its visuals but also for its meticulous sound design. “Chapter 2” delves into this aspect, presenting a rare collection of audition recordings from the voice actor cast, storyboards that served as blueprints for the films, and a compilation of memorable cuts combined with Katsuragi Misato’s iconic narration from trailer videos. These approximately 30-second trailers for each episode vividly convey the anticipation felt by viewers at the time.

Chapter 3: The Rebirth in the New Theatrical Films

Twelve years after the debut of Shin Seiki Evangelion, Evangelion Shin Gekijouban: Jo (also known as *Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone*) was released in 2007. Subsequent films, including : Ha (also known as *Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance*) and : Q (also known as *Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo*), unfolded a story dramatically different from the original series. In “Chapter 3,” visitors will explore the creation of an unprecedented visual beauty, born from the fusion of hand-drawn original drawings and layouts that reveal the creators’ thoughts and delicate brushwork, alongside digitally produced mecha and backgrounds.

Chapter 4: The Conclusion of a Saga

In 2021, Shin Evangelion Gekijouban (also known as *Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time*) brought the Evangelion series to a poignant conclusion. “Chapter 4” reveals how the world of Evangelion, which continuously evolved from hand-drawn animation to digital production and even incorporated live-action techniques, finally culminated. This area features an extensive display of setting materials and original drawings from the final film, tracing its profound conclusion.
