Get ready, Evangelion fans! A special 30th-anniversary exhibition, titled ALL OF EVANGELION, is set to open its doors on November 14th. This exciting event will be held at the Tokyo City View observation deck on the 52nd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, offering visitors a chance to delve into the rich history of the Evangelion series while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of Tokyo. Ahead of its grand opening, exclusive merchandise featuring newly drawn illustrations and an array of enticing collaboration menu items have been officially unveiled.
To kick things off, feast your eyes on some of the stunning visuals from the exhibition:
A Dive into the World of Evangelion
Originally unleashed upon the world by Anno Hideaki in 1995 as the 26-episode TV anime series Shin Seiki Evangelion, this groundbreaking sci-fi animation captivated audiences with its epic worldview and meticulously crafted, intricate settings. The narrative, depicting young boys and girls piloting colossal humanoid combat machines against mysterious “Angels,” garnered a massive following. Its subsequent expansion into comics, films, and games quickly became a cultural phenomenon.
In 2021, the series reached its dramatic conclusion with the film Shin Evangelion Gekijouban, which shattered box office records, earning an astounding 10.28 billion yen and marking the franchise’s biggest hit to date.
Exclusive Merchandise Featuring Iconic Characters
Prepare to be thrilled as the main characters of the Evangelion series – Ikari Shinji, Ayanami Rei, Shikinami Asuka Langley, Makinami Mari Illustrious, and Nagisa Kaworu – gather for the 30th-anniversary exhibition, ALL OF EVANGELION, in Roppongi.
The adjoining official store, “EVANGELION STORE,” will be a treasure trove of limited-edition goods featuring newly drawn illustrations. Please note that entry to the store is exclusive to exhibition ticket holders.
The impressive lineup includes a luxurious Foil-Stamped Acrylic Stand (available in 5 designs), a classic Can Badge Set, a Metal Keychain adorned with the exhibition logo, and a Trading Magnet set (10 designs) utilizing original drawings displayed at the exhibition. For fans seeking something truly unique, there’s a Skateboard Deck (Unit-01) featuring original artwork of Evangelion Unit-01, and a comprehensive Postcard Box (40 cards) compiling 40 original art postcards.
Themed Delights at the Collaboration Cafe
No visit would be complete without experiencing the original menu offered by “THE SUN & THE MOON,” the cafe and restaurant located adjacent to the exhibition venue. The collaboration dishes, inspired by characters and scenes from the series, are an absolute must-try!
Highlights include the Unit-01 Spice Chicken Curry, vividly depicting Unit-01 attempting to pry open an Angel’s A.T. Field. For Shikinami Asuka Langley fans, there’s the Shikinami Asuka Langley’s Tomato Pasta, where the silhouette of Evangelion Unit-02 is recreated using rice flour. And prepare for a challenge with the Tenth Angel Burger, featuring bacon representing the Tenth Angel’s ribbon-like arms.
Sweet tooths won’t be disappointed either, with dessert options like Ayanami Rei’s Chiffon Cake Dessert, an Earl Grey chiffon cake exquisitely finished with oranges and jelly, and Nagisa Kaworu’s Black Sesame Parfait, accompanied by jelly and croquant.
The drink menu is equally engaging, featuring beverages inspired by iconic lines from the characters:
- Ikari Shinji “I think it’s good to smile” Blue Calpis: A vibrant blue Calpis that brightens when stirred with blue curacao.
- Ayanami Rei “You won’t die. I’ll protect you.” Cider: Finished with blue curacao syrup.
- Shikinami Asuka Langley “Are you an idiot?” Pomegranate Orange Juice: A striking blend of orange juice and grenadine syrup.
- Makinami Mari Illustrious “The power of Evangelion that has abandoned humanity, let me see it!” Strawberry Milk: Expressing her image color with strawberry syrup.
