Plot
The story kicks off when single mother Gabby (Rosario Dawson) and her son Travis (Chase Dillon) move into an old mansion in New Orleans.

Upon their arrival, they are immediately greeted by a massive number of ghosts. Gabby quickly requests an exorcism from Father Kent (Owen Wilson), but with so many spirits, he finds himself overwhelmed and seeks the cooperation of Ben (LaKeith Stanfield), a paranormal photographer who doesn’t believe in ghosts.

Ben visits the mansion with his special camera, capable of capturing ghost particles, but pretends his camera’s battery is dead. He tells Gabby and Travis there are no ghosts and leaves.
However, after returning home, Ben realizes he’s possessed by the ghost from a portrait he saw in the mansion. Following the spirit’s message, he is compelled to return to the mansion. It turns out that anyone who steps inside is possessed by a ghost and cannot leave!

To break the curse, Ben and his companions gather a team of ghost experts: historian Bruce (Danny DeVito) and psychic Harriet (Tiffany Haddish). Eventually, the group discovers that a powerful evil spirit is manipulating all 999 ghosts residing in the mansion…
