Sumikko Gurashi Teams Up with Marufuku Coffee Shop for a Sweet Chocolate Fair!
Get ready for some adorable treats! A fourth collaboration between the beloved characters of Sumikko Gurashi and Marufuku Coffee Shop has been officially announced. Starting November 1, 2025, ten Marufuku Coffee Shop locations across Japan will roll out a charming collaboration menu themed “Kissa Sumikko de Chocolate Fair” (Chocolate Fair at Sumikko Cafe).
The Endearing World of Sumikko Gurashi
Sumikko Gurashi is a delightful character franchise from San-X, centered around the comforting theme of “feeling most at ease in a corner.” Characters like Shirokuma, Pengin?, Tonkatsu, Neko, Tokage, and Ebi Furai no Shippo, though a little negative, boast unique personalities and a charming worldview that has captivated audiences of all ages, from children to adults, celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2022.
The franchise recently expanded its reach with the TV anime Sumikko Gurashi Koko ga Ochitsukundesu (It’s So Calming Here) which began airing in April 2025 on Nippon TV’s morning information program ZIP!. Furthermore, the fourth movie installment, Eiga Sumikko Gurashi Sora no Oukoku to Futari no Ko (Sumikko Gurashi The Movie: The Sky Kingdom and the Two Children), premiered on October 31.

This fourth “Marufuku Coffee Shop x Sumikko Gurashi” collaboration fair, aptly named “Kissa Sumikko de Chocolate Fair,” promises a lineup of utterly adorable collaboration menu items.
The collaboration boasts four delectable sweets to choose from. Indulge in the “Shirokuma and Pengin? Danish French Toast” (top left), served with chocolate ice cream and syrup, a perfect treat for chilly days. For a fruity chocolate delight, try the “Tokage’s Chocolate Banana Parfait” (top right), featuring a generous amount of banana, a classic match for chocolate. If you’re craving something warm and gooey, the “Tonkatsu’s Fondant Chocolat Plate” (bottom left) comes with vanilla ice cream and a medley of strawberries and oranges. And don’t miss the “Sumikko Gurashi x Marufuku Coffee Shop Chocolate Hotcake” (bottom right), adorned with a charming illustration of everyone gathered at Kissa Sumikko.
