The TV anime Shuumatsu Touring Episode 5, titled “Nagareyama, Tonegawa Unga, Kisarazu,” premiered on November 1, 2025, at 11:30 PM. In this episode, Yooko and Airi’s journey takes them towards the Umihotaru Parking Area!
Shuumatsu Touring is a unique touring manga by Saitoo Sakae, serialized in the monthly comic magazine “Dengeki Maou.” It depicts two girls and their single Serow off-road motorbike traversing a ruined Japan. Yooko and Airi take photos at famous spots, camp in nature-rich towns, and travel through a desolate, post-apocalyptic world where no one else remains. Riding tandem on their Serow, they experience an unprecedented sense of freedom, with no traffic jams or red lights to stop them on their journey.
Animation production is handled by Nexus. The adventurous girls are brought to life by Inagaki Konomi as Yooko and Tomita Miyu as Airi.

Pre-Broadcast Buzz and Special Illustrations
Before Episode 5 aired, the original author, Saitoo Sakae-sensei, shared “Shuumatsu Touring Support Illustration Vol. 8” on their social media. The artwork was created by Imigimuru, a popular manga artist known for “Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru!” also serialized in “Dengeki Maou,” and for character design in the TV anime Lycoris Recoil as well as original character design for Make Hiroin ga Oosugiru!.
Imigimuru-sensei depicted a charmingly enhanced Yooko, truly making her stand out!
Inagaki Konomi, who voices Yooko, also posted a pre-broadcast message on the official account three hours before the episode, saying, “That’s the tent we worked so hard on…! Please look forward to it~!”
Inagaki-san had previously challenged herself to set up a camp alongside Tomita Miyu, who plays Airi, in the special program “Shuumatsu Touring” Episode 5, available on the Aniplex Channel on YouTube.
At the beginning of the segment, Inagaki-san chuckled, admitting, “I’ve done it with my family before, but my family did most of the work…” So, will the tent be successfully completed? You won’t want to miss the YouTube video to find out!

Episode 5 Highlights: A Journey Through Challenges
In Episode 5, Yooko and Airi leave Akihabara behind and head towards Umihotaru from the Chiba Prefecture side. Their goal is the Umihotaru, but rising sea levels force them to take a detour, leading them through a wetland area.
After getting their Serow muddy in the wetlands, they wash it and take a break. There, Yooko, claiming it’s a “science experiment,” uses sugar and baking soda to make karumeyaki (a type of caramel candy) over a bonfire, which she and Airi then enjoy.

“Karumeyaki is so nostalgic,” “The karumeyaki looks delicious, even if it’s a bit burnt lol,” “I haven’t eaten karumeyaki since middle school science class. So nostalgic,” “Oh, we made karumeyaki in science class,” “Karumeyaki lol. This is quite the ‘old man trap’ topic,” “Karumeyaki brings back so many memories…”
As the two girls happily ate their karumeyaki, the internet was filled with nostalgic comments, and “Karumeyaki” even trended in Japan!

After the karumeyaki, a “How to Build Yooko & Airi’s Tent” lesson began. Yooko explained, “You need tent fabric, poles, and pegs! First, extend the poles,” as Airi helped her.
While resting in their completed tent, Yooko suggested, “Once we go to Umihotaru, maybe we should return to the shelter for a bit.” It seems she wanted to perform some maintenance on the Serow.
“I prefer traveling over the shelter,” Airi responded.

“Can they freely enter and exit the shelter?” “Does the shelter have functions to allow them to live there forever?” “Episode 5. An episode filled with an ominous premonition. Wait, they can go back to the shelter?” Viewers were incredibly curious about the shelter, whose details have yet to be revealed in the anime.
Yooko and Airi spent the evening fishing, but as night fell, they noticed there was no wind at all.
“Could it be… time has stopped?”
Suddenly, a massive school of fish appeared in the river. A full moon looked down upon them.

The next day, as they rode along the highway, Yooko recalled last night’s full moon, musing, “Wasn’t that a sign of bad luck?” Then, an obstacle caused the Serow to get a flat tire. Airi, impressed, said, “Something bad really did happen. Your premonition was right,” but then worriedly asked, “Can you fix it?”

“The tent lesson and flat tire repair lesson are so educational,” “Learning about how to set up a tent, repair a flat tire, and make karumeyaki is amazing,” “They even taught how to fix a motorbike flat tire,” “Flat tire repair methods are the same now as in the post-apocalyptic world.”
Working together, they successfully repaired the flat tire. But then, dark rain clouds appeared in the distance. As Yooko drove the Serow, she started singing “Ame ame, fure fure, kaa-san ga…” (Rain, rain, fall, fall, mother is…), and then raindrops began to fall, quickly turning into a heavy downpour.

Donning their rain gear, they pressed on towards Umihotaru through what felt like an overturned bucket of water—a torrential downpour, or rather, a storm, embodying the spirit of “unyielding to rain, unyielding to wind.” And then…

Fan Reactions and Future Outlook
“This time, after seeing the full moon, a lot happened, and I wonder if the post-apocalyptic elements will intensify,” “It was an epic episode where the threats of nature were expressed with super overwhelming animation,” “This episode was full of the harshness of their journey,” “The scene in Shuumatsu Touring where they dash through the Aqua-Line in an unearthly storm and slide into Umihotaru was excellent.”
Episode 5, which deepened the sense of an apocalyptic world, garnered various reactions online. Inagaki-san also commented after the broadcast, “The humming song was surprisingly long, a memory of my efforts… With this string of ominous events, things are going to get tough again!”

Tomita Miyu, who plays Airi, seemed surprised, saying, “Karumeyaki is trending…?”
Myuk, who sings the ending theme “Glide,” wrote, “In this post-apocalyptic world, the two of them are always smiling no matter what happens, and that gave me heartwarming courage. I’m worried about the ominous premonitions…” It seems she is also very curious about the future developments.
Goami Luna, who sang the insert song “Off-Road Compass” in Episode 5, posted, “I watched it live and my eyes were glued to the screen with all the impactful scenes! Looking forward to next week.” The song has begun streaming and will also be included in the original soundtrack, which releases on December 3.
Saitoo Sakae-sensei posted an image of Airi holding karumeyaki and smiling, asking, “Can you make karumeyaki?”
Where will Yooko and Airi head next in Episode 6?
