The Phenomenal World of Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen is a dark fantasy manga crafted by Akutami Gege, depicting the relentless battles between Jujutsu Sorcerers and curses born from humanity’s negative emotions. Its serialization began in Shueisha’s “Shuukan Shounen Jump” in March 2018, captivating readers for six and a half years before concluding its epic narrative in September 2024. The series has achieved monumental success, with its cumulative circulation, including digital editions, surpassing an astounding 100 million copies. Adding to its ever-expanding lore, a short-term concentrated serialization of the near-future spin-off, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, by Akutami Gege with art by Iwasaki Yuuji, also began in September 2025.

The TV anime adaptation first premiered in 2020 on MBS and TBS networks, quickly gaining a massive global following. The highly anticipated second season, featuring the “Kaikyoku Gyokusetu / Shibuya Jihen” arcs, aired in 2023. Looking ahead, the third season, “Shimetu Kaiyuu Zenpen” (which can be translated as “Death Wargame Part 1”), is scheduled to begin broadcasting in January 2026. Prior to this, a theatrical compilation of “Kaikyoku Gyokusetu” was screened in May 2025.
