Kusuriya no Hitorigoto x Gokurakuyu/RAKU SPA Collaboration Announced!

Get ready to relax and enjoy the world of *Kusuriya no Hitorigoto* (also known as The Apothecary Diaries) at select Gokurakuyu and RAKU SPA locations! The TV anime is teaming up with the popular bathhouse group for a special collaboration event kicking off on May 22nd. Fans can look forward to exclusive merchandise, themed food and drinks, unique collaboration baths (onsen experience!), and more that perfectly capture the essence of the series.

Based on the “Hero Bunko” novel series by Hyuuga Natsu, *Kusuriya no Hitorigoto* is a palace mystery entertainment story set in the inner palace. It follows Maomao, a young girl who becomes a “poison taster” and finds herself solving complex cases, often pushed into the task by the eunuch Jinshi. The series is also serialized in two manga adaptations in “Monthly Big Gangan” and “Monthly Sunday GX.”

The first season of the TV anime aired for 24 episodes starting in October 2023 and garnered significant attention, even winning a special award at the “TVer Award 2023” for its intriguing mystery plot. The second season is currently airing continuously for two cours since January 10th, 2025.

Maomao, Jinshi, Shaolan, and Shisui are all featured in this “TV Anime ‘Kusuriya no Hitorigoto’ x Gokurakuyu/RAKU SPA Collaboration Campaign” taking place at five specific locations of the Gokurakuyu and RAKU SPA group.

This collaboration offers a full *Kusuriya no Hitorigoto* experience at each participating store, including the sale of the “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Plus Set,” collaboration goods, collaboration menus, collaboration baths, special decorations, and more!

Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Plus Set

Upon entry to the bathhouse, if you purchase the admission fee along with the “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Plus Set,” you will receive one random limited collaboration design muffler towel (from a total of 5 designs: Maomao, Jinshi, Shaolan, Shisui, and a group illustration). The “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Plus Set” is priced at 1,100 yen (tax included).

Collaboration Goods

A range of collaboration goods featuring the special collaboration visual will be available for purchase. This includes “Sitting Acrylic Stands” and “Trading Can Badges,” among others. These items will also be available for purchase on the online shop starting from 12:00 PM on May 22nd.

For purchases made at the physical stores, you will receive one random original design “Clear Card” for every 2,000 yen (tax included) spent on collaboration goods. (Please note that the “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Plus Set” and online shop purchases are not eligible for this clear card bonus).

Collaboration Menu

Exclusive menu items inspired by the characters will be available. The drink menu features 5 types, including “Maomao’s Apple Squash” and “Jinshi’s Almond Calpis.” The food menu includes items such as “Numbingly Spicy Mala Tang with Lots of Ingredients (with Sesame Dumplings),” “Maomao’s Ankake Fried Rice,” and “Jinshi’s Honey Teriyaki Chicken.” A limited quantity “Drink with Original Tumbler” (2 types total) will also be offered.

For every collaboration menu item you order, you will receive one random “Original Coaster” (from a total of 8 designs).

Collaboration Baths

Enjoy 5 different types of collaboration baths themed after the series and characters: Kusuriya no Yu, Maomao no Yu, Jinshi no Yu, Shaolan no Yu, and Shisui no Yu. The bathing areas will be specially decorated with tapestries featuring unique designs. (The schedule for which collaboration bath is available varies by location).

Collaboration Decorations and AR Photo Spot

The participating stores will feature panels and banners with newly drawn illustrations. An AR photo spot will also be set up, allowing you to take commemorative photos with mini-character versions using your smartphone camera.

Original In-Facility Broadcasts

Special, newly recorded original broadcasts will play throughout the facility every hour, adding another layer of immersion to your visit.

X Campaign

Follow the official Gokurakuyu/RAKU SPA X account and post content related to the collaboration using the hashtag “#薬屋の湯” (Kusuriya no Yu). Show your post at the reception desk at the store to receive a collaboration original design “Postcard” and a lottery ticket for a chance to win collaboration decorations (banners and tapestries).

The “TV Anime ‘Kusuriya no Hitorigoto’ x Gokurakuyu/RAKU SPA Collaboration Campaign” will run for a limited time from May 22nd (Thursday) to June 17th (Tuesday) at the 5 participating Gokurakuyu and RAKU SPA group locations.
