Haikyuu!! Baboka!! Second Season Released, Featuring “Battle at the Garbage Dump” & Furudate Haruichi Original Drawing Cards!

It has been announced that 『Haikyuu!! BaboKa!! BREAK』 series, the second series of the 『Haikyuu!!』 Trading Card Game (hereinafter “TCG”), will be released on October 25, 2025. This release includes the “Booster Pack: Gomisetuba no Kessen” and two types of Starter Decks: “Starter Deck Karasuno Koukou” and “Starter Deck Nekoma Koukou”. The series will feature new original illustrations drawn by the original author, Furudate Haruichi. Pre-orders on “Takara Tomy Mall” will begin at 0:00 on July 1.

What is 『Haikyuu!! BaboKa!!』?

The 『Haikyuu!! BaboKa!!』 series is a TCG for 『Haikyuu!!』, named “BaboKa,” which is short for “Volleyball Card Game”. Its biggest feature is that you can recreate volleyball gameplay using cards. Players use a deck of 40 cards, combining Character Cards and Event Cards (up to 8 of the latter). It’s possible to include multiple copies of the same character in a deck, and you can even mix characters from different high schools to create your own dream team.

Gameplay Mechanics

The game starts with the first player’s “Serve”. Players then place Character Cards in the “Receive”, “Toss”, and “Attack” areas to connect rallies and hit the ball back. The thrill lies in enjoying battles that mimic actual volleyball, and the first player to take 3 sets wins. A key charm is the ability to experience a simulated sense of the fruits of effort made by connecting the ball, just like in real volleyball or the world of 『Haikyuu!!』.
