The official Gundam merchandise facility, “THE GUNDAM BASE,” is expanding its reach with a new satellite store, “THE GUNDAM BASE SATELLITE KANAZAWA.” It’s set to open its doors on October 31, 2025, inside Kanazawa Forus in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. This exciting launch marks its first expansion into the Hokuriku region, and it promises to feature exclusive Gunpla models, among many other fantastic items.

What is THE GUNDAM BASE?

“THE GUNDAM BASE” serves as an official hub for Gundam merchandise, catering to Gundam and Gunpla enthusiasts worldwide. With the primary goal of expanding the Gunpla business, this official Gunpla shop has strategically opened locations across the globe, starting with Korea in 2003, followed by Taiwan (2005), Tokyo (2017), Shanghai (2018), and Thailand (2021). As of September 2025, “THE GUNDAM BASE” proudly operates 2 domestic stores in Japan and an impressive 21 international branches.

The “THE GUNDAM BASE SATELLITE” concept, designed for medium-sized stores, now includes five locations in Japan with the addition of Kanazawa, following its predecessors in Nagoya, Kyoto, Sendai, and Hiroshima. Beyond this, “THE GUNDAM BASE ANNEX,” which specializes in Gundam souvenir products, opened its second domestic store at New Chitose Airport in March 2025, after its successful Tokyo debut. In total, the “THE GUNDAM BASE” group now manages 29 stores globally, bringing the joy of Gunpla to more fans than ever before.
