The popular character series Chiiikawa is teaming up with the famous souvenir brand Tokyo Banana for a delicious new treat! Their collaborative “New Banana Pudding Cake” is making its first-ever appearance in Osaka. Alongside the familiar faces of Chiiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, the lineup now features adorable new designs of Kurimanjuu, Momonga, and Rakko.
About Chiiikawa
Chiiikawa is a hugely popular manga series created by illustrator Nagano, who has been posting it on X (formerly Twitter) since 2020. The story follows the sometimes fun, sometimes painfully hard daily lives of Chiiikawa and friends, capturing the hearts of a wide audience from adults to children. Its X follower count has now surpassed a staggering 4.45 million.
The Irresistibly Cute New Cakes
This new product features six different moe-inducing character designs printed right onto the sponge cakes—so cute you might feel guilty eating them! The details are carefully crafted to capture the endearing charm of the Chiiikawa crew.
The taste is just as special. The cake boasts a 20% increase in banana content, combining a fruity banana pudding custard with a slightly bitter caramel cream for a double-cream delight. All of this is wrapped in a fluffy baked sponge cake, creating a mucha uma (absurdly delicious) treat that’s pure Tokyo Banana. One bite is sure to bring a smile, whether your day is going great or getting a bit tough.
All-New Packaging & Special Extras
The packaging has also gotten a makeover, featuring exclusive collaboration artwork that fits the “Tokyo Banana” aesthetic. A key design point is making eye contact with the characters—their sparkling, kawaii eyes will make you want to stare forever. The artwork also uses a soft, fluffy style for the characters, reminiscent of Tokyo Banana’s signature sponge cake.
