About the ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Phenomenon
‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ is the massively popular anime based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, published in Shueisha’s “Jump Comics.” With all 23 volumes released and over 220 million copies in circulation, its impact is undeniable. The story follows Kamado Tanjirou, a boy whose family is slaughtered by demons. To turn his sister Nezuko, who has been turned into a demon, back into a human, he joins the Demon Slayer Corps and throws himself into battle against the demons. The series has captured hearts with its poignant tale of humans and demons, breathtaking sword fights, incredibly charismatic characters, and the occasional comedic moment that provides perfect balance.
The animation is masterfully handled by ufotable. The series began with ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba: Tanjirou Kamado, Risshi Hen’ in April 2019 and has continued to expand. The ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen’ movie trilogy, which depicts the final showdown between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons within the demon stronghold “Infinity Castle,” is now in full swing. The first chapter, “Akaza’s Return,” hit theaters on July 18th.
