New Episode Preview Drops for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3

Get ready, sorcerers! The synopsis and a fresh batch of preview cuts have been released for the upcoming episode of Jujutsu Kaisen. Episode 50, titled “Shimetsu Kaiyuu ni Tsuite” (which can be translated as “About the Death Painting”), is set to air on January 15, 2026 (Thursday). This marks the third episode of the highly anticipated Season 3, “Shimetsu Kaiyuu Zenpen“.

About the Series

Jujutsu Kaisen is a hit dark fantasy manga by Akutami Gege that throws readers into a world where curses born from human negativity battle against jujutsu sorcerers. It ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump for over six years, from March 2018 to September 2024, and has smashed past 150 million copies in total circulation, including digital versions. The franchise is still expanding, with a near-future spin-off, Jujutsu Kaisen ≡ (Modulo)—with original work by Akutami and art by Iwasaki Yuuji—currently in a focused serialization since September 2025.

The anime adaptation kicked off with Season 1 in October 2020, followed by the blockbuster film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which racked up a staggering 26.5 billion yen worldwide. Season 2, “Kaitama・Tamotsu / Shibuya Jihen,” aired in 2023 and took the global anime community by storm. Now, Season 3 “Shimetsu Kaiyuu Zenpen” dives into the deadly game orchestrated by the history’s most vile sorcerer, Kamo Noritoshi.

Episode 50 Synopsis: “Shimetsu Kaiyuu ni Tsuite”

Itadori Yuuji is wrestling with guilt over the Shibuya incident, but a firm push from Fushiguro Megumi—”First, save me“—gets him back on his feet. He regroups with Tsukumo Yuki and the others hiding out at the technical college.

Their mission is clear: find a way to unseal the Prison Realm holding Gojou Satoru and uncover the true goals of Kamo Noritoshi. To get answers, they head to the Kōsei Palace to seek an audience with the enigmatic Tengen.
