The TV anime adaptation of Kaketa Tsuki no Mercedes ~Kyūketsuki no Kizoku ni Tensei Shita kedo Suterare Sō na node Dungeon o Seiha Suru~ (literally “Mercedes of the Waning Moon”) has been officially announced. The series is set to begin broadcasting in January 2027.
The story is a fantasy adventure about a vampire girl who swears by the moon. The original light novel and manga are published by TO Books under their imprint.
A teaser visual and first promotional video have been released. The visual features the protagonist Mercedes Grünewald standing against a large moon in the night sky, exuding both the mystery of a vampire and inner strength. The PV opens with a scene of a figure falling from somewhere—presumably Mercedes before her reincarnation—and showcases intense, beautiful battle sequences as the vampire Mercedes fights with sharp fangs and pointed ears.
It was also revealed that Anna Nagase will voice the main character Mercedes Grünewald. The main staff includes director Sugishima Kunihisa, series composition by Kumagai Jun, character design by Shōyama Nami, music by R・O・N and Mutsuki Shūhei, and animation production by Teddy.
