BanG Dream! Yume ∞ Mita Episode 5: Arale and Clematis Reunite, Viola’s Villainy Shocks Viewers

The fifth episode of BanG Dream! Yume ∞ Mita aired on July 16, 2026 (Thursday), continuing the tense atmosphere left by last week’s cliffhanger. After finally meeting Clematis only to be pushed away, Arale had been visibly down. This week, viewers watched as the emotional roller coaster took another sharp turn.

Arale, who had been doing better in recent days, sinks back into gloom after her reunion with Clematis. During an online meeting with her manager and bandmates Miyako, Yuno, and Nonoka, she abruptly asks for time off from practice and leaves the call. Her friends are worried, but the cause remains unclear. Fans commented, “Is she okay?” as they watched Arale’s spirits plummet.

A Livestream Accident Exposes Hidden Feelings

The episode opens with a practice session for Myūtaipu. Nonoka and Yuno train together while discussing how busy Miyako is with her manga work. Meanwhile, Arale goes to school but still seems down. When friends bring up Clematis and Viola, she looks uncomfortable. Nonoka tries to cheer her up but rushes off in her usual fast-talking manner.

Elsewhere, Clematis and Viola are preparing goods for an upcoming event. To viewers’ surprise, Clematis is seen in a maid costume. Viola directs her poses for polaroid photos, but Clematis remains unresponsive. Viola then threatens her by bringing up Arale’s name, forcing Clematis to comply.

That night, Clematis hosts a livestream to promote the Fairy Bouquet event. After finishing the announcement, she receives a chat from Viola and forgets to end the stream. Unaware, Clematis plays an old original song by Arale while thinking of her. Viewers shouted, “You forgot to cut the stream!” and “Notice it!” Real-life Nakamachi Arale even commented, “Rii-chan, you’re a klutz.”

The stream is also seen by the other three members of Fairy Bouquet, who are at a night pool. Viola quickly spins the accident as part of the event’s promotion, showing her talent as a performer. Fans were horrified, saying, “Viola really…” and “Did Viola do that on purpose?”

After finishing the song, Clematis mutters “Arale-chan.” Another chat from Viola finally alerts her to the mistake, and she frantically ends the stream. Viewers sympathized, noting, “Saying ‘Arale-chan’ might have been bad.” Clematis is left in despair, fearing what Viola might do next.

Yuno Plays Detective, Arale Sees the Cry for Help

Yuno catches the stream and shares it with Arale. Watching Clematis’s pained expression, Arale recognizes the same look she once had and understands the hidden message: “Help me.” Fans praised Yuno, calling her a “great detective” and “cool.”

The next day, Clematis is devastated by the accident, while the other three chat happily about the event. Viola smirks at Clematis’s misery, cementing her role as a villain. Viewers were stunned by her unapologetic wickedness.

Arale, unsure what to do, wanders aimlessly and ends up at the Fairy Bouquet event venue. Viola spots her and, under the guise of event staging, calls her onto the stage. Fans erupted in anger: “She’s calling her?” “Too dangerous!” “What a terrible personality!”

Escorted by Bell and Popo, Arale is terrified by the cameras pointed at her. In a panic, she grabs Clematis’s hand and runs from the venue. Watching this, Viola holds Clematis’s guitar and cries, “Arale-chan, why?” as if she were the betrayed heroine. Viewers were furious: “Why are you crying!” “Don’t play the victim!”

A Heartfelt Reunion and a Cryptic Ending

Arale and Clematis sprint through Akihabara. Arale firmly grasps Clematis’s hand again, and Clematis looks happy. Fans were moved: “Arale-chan… Rii-chan…” “Rii-chan, I’m glad.”

After running a long distance, they stop in a park. Arale panics at the gravity of what she’s done, but Clematis tearfully thanks her for saving her. For the first time, they speak honestly. Arale confesses she was afraid of Viola and of people’s eyes, but she wanted to help Clematis. Clematis encourages her, and they resolve to move forward together. The episode ends with a meaningful fade to flames, leaving viewers shocked: “What was that ending?!” “Too ominous!”

Following the episode, the official X account posted an illustration of Arale and Clematis about to be devoured by Viola. The official site and profile were also taken over by the image. Fans commented, “Too scary!” and “What an expression!” Voice actors including Nakamachi Arale’s, Fuji Miyako’s, and Miyanaga Nonoka’s reacted, and even Viola’s voice actor Kaede Hondo expressed surprise.

Episode 5 ended with Arale and Clematis reconciling, but the damage to Fairy Bouquet’s event remains. Clematis has now caused two accidents in two days. With Viola’s motives, the consequences of the ruined event, and the ominous fire imagery, many questions remain. The next episode airs on July 23, 2026 (Thursday).
