The popular figure skating manga Medalist by Tsuruma Ikada is going on a hiatus for the time being, the official X (formerly Twitter) account for the manga announced on September 4, 2026.

The announcement cited “production circumstances” as the reason for the pause, and offered an apology to readers. The editorial team also stated that they will support the author as they prepare for the series’ return. Further updates on the resumption will be shared via Afternoon magazine and the official X account.

Alongside the announcement, Tsuruma Ikada released a comment. Since the story is currently in the middle of the Junior Grand Prix Final, the author apologized for making readers wait at such a crucial point. “From the moment the series resumes, I want to work with my editor and the production team to deliver the conclusion without any interruptions, so that everyone can enjoy it in the best possible way,” the comment read.
