Shin Oishinbo Anime Teaser PV Unveils Azakami Youhei, Sasaki Hitomi, Ootsuka Akio Voices

The 2027 TV anime Shin Oishinbo has released a new teaser PV that gives fans their first listen to the main cast’s voices. The latest preview features Azakami Youhei as Yamaoka Shirou, Sasaki Hitomi as Kurita Yuuko, and Ootsuka Akio as Kaibara Yuuzan. Alongside the video, new scene photos from the anime have also been revealed.

A Long-Awaited Revival After 35 Years

Oishinbo is the food manga by Kariya Tetsu (story) and Hanasaki Akira (art) that became a major phenomenon through live-action drama and anime adaptations. It has surpassed 135 million copies in circulation. After 35 years since the previous anime series ended, the complete sequel Shin Oishinbo is set to return in 2027, produced by Shin-Ei Animation.

Kyukyoku vs Shikou, With New Drama

Shin Oishinbo continues the story of the fierce food battle between Tozai Shimbun’s “Kyukyoku no Menu” and Kaibara Yuuzan’s “Shikou no Menu.” The series keeps the energetic atmosphere of the 1990s while unfolding new developments. Dan Ichirou, the young president of Daikensha, appears as the referee of the confrontation. His love at first sight with Kurita Yuuko, and the frustrating romantic thread involving Yamaoka Shirou, become part of the growing story. The classic that became a social phenomenon across the Showa and Heisei eras is reborn in the Reiwa era as a new “ultimate” tale.

Main Cast and Their Characters

Yamaoka Shirou is a Tozai Shimbun cultural department reporter who is usually lazy but has exceptionally deep knowledge about food. He is chosen to handle “Kyukyoku no Menu,” and he is voiced by Azakami Youhei.

Kurita Yuuko is also a Tozai Shimbun cultural department reporter and works with Yamaoka on “Kyukyoku no Menu.” She is voiced by Sasaki Hitomi.

Kaibara Yuuzan is Yamaoka’s biological father and a rare gourmet who runs the strict, members-only, ultra high-class restaurant Bishoku Club. He is voiced by Ootsuka Akio.

What the Teaser PV Shows

The teaser PV presents beautifully depicted dishes that stimulate the appetite, from softly rising steam to meat grilled until aromatic. It shows Yamaoka and Kurita spending their days searching for “Kyukyoku no Menu,” while Yuuzan laughs triumphantly, as if declaring victory, with the line “Kyukyoku no Menu mo owari da na.”

Yamaoka, burning with fighting spirit, says, “Shikou no Menu to no taiketsu ga tsuzuku tte koto wa, Yuuzan ni kataki o uteru chance ga aru tte koto da.” The question remains whether he can use “Kyukyoku no Menu” to satisfy Yuuzan, and the outcome of the “Kyukyoku vs Shikou” battle is one to watch.

Scene Photos Offer an Early Taste

New scene photos let viewers experience the atmosphere of the anime ahead of release. They include Yamaoka Shirou staring sharply at something, Kurita Yuuko with a dignified expression, and Kaibara Yuuzan radiating overwhelming presence and intensity. Another shot shows both sides gathered together in a tense confrontation, hinting at the heated drama to come.
