Lawson has unveiled a lineup of original goods celebrating the 55th anniversary of the anime film Panda Kopanda. The items will go on sale at Lawson stores nationwide, excluding some locations, from Thursday, October 8, 2026, in limited quantities.
A 1972 Original from the Takahata Isao and Miyazaki Hayao Team
Panda Kopanda is an original medium-length anime released in theaters in 1972, at the height of Japan’s panda boom, and was created by the duo of Takahata Isao and Miyazaki Hayao. Together with its 1973 sequel, Panda Kopanda: Amefuri Circus no Maki, it is often described as a forerunner of the two directors’ later works, and it remains loved by viewers across generations.
The 50th anniversary in 2022 brought commemorative goods and a range of collaboration projects, while the traveling exhibition “Panda Kopanda Ten,” which also started that year, has visited seven venues so far, including its current run at the Kitakyushu City Manga Museum. In October 2026, the 55th Anniversary Project also got under way.

The Lawson store-exclusive goods pack the retro-cute appeal of the film into a face mascot pouch, an eco bag and more. The goods are available in limited quantities, and sales end once stock runs out.
Face Mascot Pouch (2 Types)
Two versions are available, each turning the entire face of Papanda or Pan-chan into a pouch for a striking, high-impact item.
Eco Bag (1 Type)
The eco bag features the blue and white coloring associated with Lawson, and offers two different designs to enjoy on the front and back.
Original Synthetic Leather Keychain (5 Random Types)
The synthetic leather keychains come in five randomly distributed designs with a rich variety of poses and expressions. Which one you receive is a surprise until you open it.
Lawson Print Original Stickers (9 Types)
At “Lawson Print,” the multi-copy machine service inside Lawson stores, Panda Kopanda Lawson original stickers will also be on sale. They come in two sizes, L-size and 2L-size, and buyers can choose their favorite artwork.
