A New Chapter Begins for the Cast-Out Jack-of-All-Trades

For the Winter anime ‘Yuusha Patei wo Oidasareta Kiyou Binbou’ (which can be translated as The Jack-of-All-Trades Master of None, Kicked Out of the Hero’s Party), the synopsis and preview screenshots for Episode 2, titled “Modorenai Kiyou Binbou” (The Jack-of-All-Trades Who Can’t Go Back), set to begin airing on Sunday, January 11, 2026, have been released.

‘Yuusha Patei wo Oidasareta Kiyou Binbou’ is a classic underdog fantasy story based on a massively popular light novel series written by Toougaki (published under Kodansha’s “K Ranobe Books”) with illustrations by Kisaragi Yuri. The series has a cumulative circulation of over 4.8 million copies and also has a comic adaptation serialized on Nico Nico Manga’s “Wednesday’s Sirius”. The story follows our protagonist, Oorn Duura, voiced by Ootsuka Takeo, as he gets kicked out of the hero’s party by his childhood friend and the party’s leader, Oliver, for being “not strong enough.” This is a huge blow to Oorn, who had switched from being a 【Swordsman】 to a 【Enchanter】 specifically to support the party, developing his own unique magic along the way.

To make matters worse, the companions he thought he’d shared hardships with mock him as a useless “jack-of-all-trades” and reveal they’ve already found his replacement. Heartbroken but determined, Oorn leaves the “Hero’s Party” behind and starts a new life as a solo adventurer. Lost memories, the power to face injustice, and a series of new encounters are about to dramatically change Oorn’s fate.

Episode 2 “Modorenai Kiyou Binbou” (The Jack-of-All-Trades Who Can’t Go Back) Synopsis

Having saved Sophia, Oorn now finds himself participating in a “training exploration” for the major clan Yozora no Ginto (The Silver Rabbits of the Night Sky). His mission? To guide a group of rookies down to the 51st floor of the Great Labyrinth.

Under the command of Sophia’s older sister, Selma, the three-day labyrinth exploration begins.

Oorn is put in charge of the promising rookie team, “Squad 10″… but will this go smoothly?

Episode 2 of the Winter anime ‘Yuusha Patei wo Oidasareta Kiyou Binbou’ will air on January 11th (Sunday) on TOKYO MX, BS Nippon TV, Yomiuri TV, and AT-X. It’s also available for early streaming on d-Anime Store and ABEMA.
