The Legendary Manga: Hokuto no Ken
Hokuto no Ken is a manga that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump back in 1983, with original story by Buronson and art by Hara Tetsuo. Set in a devastated world after a nuclear war, it follows Kenshiro, the successor of the legendary assassination fist “Hokuto Shinken”, as he carries love and destiny on his shoulders and engages in deadly battles with formidable foes. With its overwhelming artistic power, intense human drama, shocking violence, and iconic catchphrases like “You are already dead,” it sparked a social phenomenon and has sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
It has expanded into various media including anime, movies, games, and stage plays, and even after surpassing its 40th anniversary, it remains a beloved masterpiece by fans both in Japan and overseas. In 2026, a new anime adaptation titled Hokuto no Ken -FIST OF THE NORTH STAR- is planned to be broadcast and streamed, featuring new staff and cast along with the latest visual technology to fully capture the charm of the original work.
Exploring the World with Rurubu Hokuto no Ken
This Rurubu Hokuto no Ken divides the work’s world into nine major areas, such as “KING’s Dominion” and “Around Mamiya’s Village,” and introduces the journey taken by Kenshiro and his companions as a model route.
