What is the Roudokai Shiki Series?

This unique series is deliberately billed as a reading “club” (会) rather than a reading “play.” It aims to create an immersive space where the beauty of the Japanese language and the author’s sensibility can be felt through sound. With a small cast facing each other, the interactions allow the infinite world of the literary work to unfold, offering a relaxed and sophisticated reading experience for adults.

The Final Installment: Winter ‘Takano Sei’

The Roudokai Shiki Series runs throughout the year with four performances: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. This winter event marks the exciting final chapter of the series. Following the highly popular traditional attire visuals from previous installments, the voice actor cast for the winter edition is now revealed in beautiful kimono. The theme is Izumi Kyoka‘s short story “Takano Sei,” promising a dense, atmospheric experience where the beauty of Japanese and the author’s vision are conveyed through sound.
