The TV anime TANK CHAIR-戦車椅子- will begin broadcasting in Fall 2026. The main cast has been announced: Uchiyama Kouki, Fujidera Yoshinori, Kajiwara Gakuto, and Hayami Saori will voice the lead characters. Comments from the cast have also arrived, and character visuals, tank chair designs, and character PVs have been unveiled all at once.
TANK CHAIR-戦車椅子- is based on the manga “TANK CHAIR” by the genius Yashiro Manabu, currently serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius, with over 1 million copies in circulation worldwide. It is a violent action series featuring a most heinous dark hero. The story follows Taira Nagi, the strongest hitman, who becomes unconscious after protecting his sister from a bullet. The condition for his awakening is having “murderous intent” directed at him. Believing that an extraordinary murderous intent will fully awaken him, his sister Taira Shizuka takes him through “rehabilitation” against powerful enemies.
The series is directed, series-composed, and scripted by Yoshihira “Tady” Naohiro, who also directed alongside Andou Hiroaki, who also handles script. Character designs are by Moriyama Yuuki, production design by Teshigawara Kazuma, music by Yokoyama Masaru. Animation production is by Polygon Pictures, known for their global work on titles such as Knights of Sidonia, Spider-Man: Friendly Neighborhood, and Star Wars: Visions Vol.3 – Jigoku no Tori, delivering dynamic action with overwhelming visuals.
The main cast for the four central characters has now been revealed. Uchiyama Kouki passionately voices Taira Nagi, the strongest hitman who lost consciousness protecting his sister. His sister Taira Shizuka is voiced by Fujidera Yoshinori. Kurosaka Naozumi, a former classmate who harbors a strong rivalry with Nagi, is voiced by Kajiwara Gakuto. Kurosaka Touko, Naozumi’s sister and partner in battle, is voiced by Hayami Saori. Each cast member has provided passionate comments about the series.
In addition, character visuals for the protagonist Taira Nagi, along with the central figures Taira Shizuka, Kurosaka Naozumi, and Kurosaka Touko, as well as a “tank chair” visual for Nagi, have been released. A character PV featuring the unique voices of the four main characters over new footage has also been unveiled, so be sure to check it out.
Furthermore, the official teaser site has added character pages in line with this announcement, featuring profiles and cast comments. The official anime X (formerly Twitter) account is running a campaign to give away signed color paper from the four main cast members, so don’t miss that either.

Uchiyama Kouki (Taira Nagi)
I was surprised by the nature of Taira Nagi, who is usually unconscious and awakens only when murderous intent is directed at him. TANK CHAIR-戦車椅子- is an anime packed with intense drama and diverse gimmick-filled battle action. The recording method is not post-recording but pre-scoring every time, and all the cast members approach it with incredible concentration and passion. I hope many people will watch it.
Fujidera Yoshinori (Taira Shizuka)
This is Fujidera Yoshinori, who will play Taira Shizuka. Shizuka is a straightforward girl who doesn’t hesitate to put herself in danger to fully awaken her brother Nagi. When I think about whether I would be the same in her situation, I feel a shiver at the weight she carries. Still, whenever I see her nonchalant demeanor or catch a glimpse of her inner feelings, I find her very endearing. While being careful not to miss a single word of the wonderful performances of my seniors, and together with the team full of love for the work, I gave my all to portray Shizuka. Every character is somehow awkward and incomplete, but their strength from that imperfection really draws me in. The action unique to TANK CHAIR-戦車椅子- is also full of charm. I hope you’ll look forward to the broadcast!
Kajiwara Gakuto (Kurosaka Naozumi)
I’m Kajiwara Gakuto, voicing Kurosaka Naozumi. Naozumi is Touko’s brother, living day to day smeared with anguish, anger, and pain. When I play Naozumi, I wring out every bit of negativity from myself and approach it with a heart that feels about to wither. So in a good way, it’s very exhausting to act him (laughs). But that’s why I think his deep layers are packed in. Also, we are performing using a pre-scoring recording format. So we are given a lot of freedom to act as the actors wish. I fight with all my might, exploding with emotion, so please give TANK CHAIR-戦車椅子- your support!
Hayami Saori (Kurosaka Touko)
The Kurosaka siblings depict another story alongside the Taira siblings. Touko, the sister, is a strong person who always cares for her brother Naozumi and is determined to protect him. In the recording, I am also approaching it while cherishing the deep bond that the siblings have built. Actually, during the audition, the script had only “shuu,” “shuu,” “shuu,” which surprised me quite a bit. Furthermore, the main recording is done using a pre-scoring format where only the voice exchanges are done beforehand. I was nervous about this new world, but now I am savoring its depth and enjoying it with a good sense of tension. The coolness of the original, the rapid battles, and each character’s story are carefully depicted in the anime. I think it’s a very impactful visual work! Please look forward to it!
