Yoroi Shinden Samurai Trooper 2nd Cour Premieres July 7, Additional Cast Announced

The second cour of the TV anime Yoroi Shinden Samurai Trooper will begin airing and streaming on July 7, 2026. Along with the announcement, a new promotional video and key visual have been released, along with character designs for the Tenkai realm. Three additional cast members have been revealed: Tomoaki Maeno, Aya Endo, and Hiroshi Shirokuma. The opening theme will be performed by Dannie May, and the ending theme by Karanoya.

New Visual and PV

The newly released key visual for the second cour features the four Samurai Troopers—Kaito, Musashi, Yamato, and Shion—in their armor with a resolute stance, while Yashimanosagume of the Tenkai realm peers at them suspiciously.

The story picks up three months after the defeat of Ragenga and the departure of Kai. The Samurai Troopers, who ventured into the Yojakai realm to protect the human world, once again face the Ten Brave Warriors. A new threat from the Tenkai realm emerges, and an unexpected encounter awaits them. The PV heightens anticipation for the battles ahead as the human, Yojakai, and Tenkai realms intersect.

Additional Cast and Characters

New characters from the Tenkai realm, key to the story, have been unveiled. Joining the previously announced Yashimanosagume (CV: Maaya Sakamoto) and Inmei (CV: Takehito Koyasu) are:

  • Gomei (CV: Tomoaki Maeno)
  • Shimei (CV: Aya Endo)
  • Gaimei (CV: Hiroshi Shirokuma)

Cast Comments

Yashimanosagume: Maaya Sakamoto
“I am truly honored to be part of a work that has been loved for so long. I approached the recording with care to preserve the passion that has been passed down. I wonder how everyone will perceive the mysterious Sagume-san. I’m excited.”

Inmei: Takehito Koyasu
“We’re finally entering the second cour. The character I play, Inmei, will begin to act in earnest, but will he be friend or foe? Look forward to the mystery-laden developments!”

Gomei: Tomoaki Maeno
“I am Tomoaki Maeno, voice of Gomei. I’m very honored to be involved in such a historic work. Every character has their own goals and beliefs, and what happens when they collide? Even we in the studio were thrilled guessing the next developments each time we got the script. I hope you all watch over how the story unfolds.”

Shimei: Aya Endo
“I played Shimei, a woman with a snake coiled around her body. Just like the samurai, our side also has things we want to protect! Thank you!”

Gaimei: Hiroshi Shirokuma
“Have you ever felt like you were out of place while trying to act tough? I played a role that desperately tries to appear strong, like a senior who is the only one disrespected by juniors.”

Theme Song Artists

For the second cour, the opening theme is Dannie May’s “BAD遺伝子” and the ending theme is Karanoya’s “ばけもん.” Both artists provided comments.

Dannie May (OP)
“I was told it’s a ‘grand parent-child quarrel,’ so I made a song about the restless irritation of adolescence. ‘The few centimeters to understanding each other are so far.’ I understand. I was like that in middle school. Someday when I become a parent, will I feel the same? I put utmost aggression with a little love and dependence into this. I hope many people hear it.”

Karanoya (ED)
“I’m Karanoya, in charge of the second cour ending theme. I composed the song with the theme of what I would do if I were in the Samurai Troopers’ shoes, hoping to make the power of music felt. I felt that I couldn’t possibly endure their world. They live in an incredible world. I wanted to depict the feelings of Samurai Troopers facing absurdity, the struggles of heroes who seem to shine, the reality that isn’t like advertisements. Their struggle and the sometimes cruel causality.” — Takehiro (Karanoya)
