The upcoming anime film Kimi to Hanabi to Yakusoku to (You, Fireworks, and a Promise) has revealed that three members of the seven-member idol group AVAM will voice classmates of the protagonist. Saiki Nanami, Kikyou Hanaka, and Himemiya Yuka are set to appear in the film, which is scheduled for release on July 17, 2026.
Based on the novel by Mato published under Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko, the film is directed by Suzuki Kei and produced by Shin-Ei Animation, with animation production by SynergySP and Answer Studio. The story is set against the backdrop of the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival, one of Japan’s three great fireworks displays, and follows a bittersweet love story crossing time, linked by a mysterious painting.
Starring as the protagonist Natsume Makoto is Sato Shouri (timelesz), making his first lead role in an anime film. The heroine, a bright yet ephemeral high school girl named Hikaru, is voiced by Hara Nanoka. Takahashi Rie plays Haru, a girl who suddenly appears before Makoto, and Yokozawa Natsuko, a native of Niigata like the film’s setting, voices Makoto’s mother. The theme song is timelesz’s new track Kienai Hanabi (Fireworks That Never Fade).
Now joining the cast are three members of AVAM, a seven-member idol group built on a “little devil” concept and formed through auditions with approximately 15,000 applicants. Their representative song Kyou, Izon Shite. (Today, I’m Addicted.) has garnered over 20 million views on TikTok, and the group’s total SNS followers exceed 2.2 million. Saiki, Kikyou, and Himemiya will play classmates of Makoto.
