The official website for the television anime adaptation of Koneko Hoshizuki’s light novel Lv999 no Murabito (The Villager of Level 999) has revealed additional staff, a key visual, the ending theme, and the second promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere on July 2 at 12:00 a.m. on TV Tokyo, followed by BS Fuji.

La prière members Nakuru Aitsuki and Itsuki Natsume perform the opening theme “Not a Hero,” while musician Yukimura performs the ending theme “HP.” Both tracks are previewed in the second promo video.
Yoshinobu Kasai (director of 180-Byou de Kimi no Mimi o Shiawase ni Dekiru ka?) is directing the anime at Brain’s Base. Shinzou Fujita (Fumetsu no Anata e) handles series composition, Kentarou Matsumoto (In/Spectre animation director) designs the characters, and Hiroshi Nakamura (Ansatsu Kyoushitsu) composes the music.
Hoshizuki began serializing the fantasy light novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou in July 2015. Enterbrain started publishing the series in April 2016, with illustrations by Fuumi (Yatara to Sasshi no Ii Ore wa, Dokuzetsu Kuudere Bishoujo no Chiisana Dere mo Minogasazu ni Guigui Iku). The eighth and final volume was released on January 25, 2019.
Kenichi Iwamoto launched a manga adaptation in Kadokawa Shoten’s Comp Ace magazine in May 2017. Kadokawa published the 20th volume on February 25.
Kadokawa began simulpublishing the manga in English on its BookWalker service as The Level 999 Villager in September 2025.
