Gakken’s popular illustrated encyclopedia series Yuru Yuru Zukan is getting a television anime adaptation. The series will premiere in October 2026 on the TV Tokyo network’s anime block “Ani Mori!” airing every Sunday at 7:00 AM across six stations.
The Yuru Yuru Zukan series is known for its concept of letting readers enjoy even scary subjects through cute, approachable illustrations. It offers fun facts and surprising trivia about various creatures in a lighthearted format. As of June 2026, the series has sold over 1.24 million copies in total.
The anime adaptation will retain that charm, produced as a light animation in a short format that allows viewers to enjoy it at a brisk pace. The relaxed world of the original books and its diverse, quirky creatures will be brought to life with lively movement and direction unique to television animation, further enhancing the characters’ cuteness and humor.
