The new theatrical film Shin Gekijouban☆Keroro Gunsou: Fukkatsu shite Soku Chikyuu Metsubou no Kiki de Arimasu! opened in theaters across Japan today, June 26, 2026. It has been revealed that characters from director Fukuda Yuuichi’s previous works — Yuusha Yoshihiko, HK / Hentai Kamen, and Gintama — make guest appearances in the film. Alongside the announcement, comments from the 12 cast members who voiced these characters and new scene photos have been released.

Keroro Gunsou is a comedy manga by Yoshizaki Mine, serialized in Gekkan Shounen Ace and now in its 27th year. The story follows Keroro and his alien squad who come to Earth to invade but end up interacting with the humans they meet. The franchise spawned a TV anime series, flash animations, and five previous theatrical films, becoming a social phenomenon in the 2000s.
The new film is part of the anime’s 20th anniversary project and marks the first theatrical release in 16 years since Chou Gekijouban Keroro Gunsou: Tanjou! Kyuukyoku Keroro, Kiseki no Jikuu-shima de Arimasu!! in 2010. In the story, the Keroro squad senses a crisis from a new invader and rises up with their pride as invaders on the line. The film pits them against the strongest enemy in Keroro history, with the largest-scale battle and surprises. Fukuda Yuuichi, a top comedy hitmaker making his anime debut, serves as scriptwriter and general director.

Now it has been revealed that characters from Fukuda’s representative works appear in the film. From the TV drama series Yuusha Yoshihiko, the cast includes Yamada Takayuki as Yoshihiko, Konan Haruka as Murasaki, Muro Tsuyoshi as Melebu, Satou Jirou as Hotoke, and Takuma Shin as Danjou. From the unique hero film HK / Hentai Kamen, Suzuki Ryohei reprises his role as HK.
Furthermore, from the Gintama series based on the hit manga, the live-action film cast members join: Oguri Shun as Sakata Gintoki, Suda Masaki as Shimura Shinpachi, Hashimoto Kanna as Kagura, Nakamura Kankurou as Kondou Isao, Yagira Yuuya as Hijikata Toushirou, and Yoshizawa Ryo as Okita Sougo.

Regarding his guest appearance, Yamada Takayuki (Yoshihiko) commented, “Ten years have passed since we defeated the Demon King. We swore we would return someday as a movie. But that’s not what I meant! When I said ‘return’ (kaeru), I didn’t mean ‘frog’ (kaeru)! Why do I have to go on an adventure for a frog? I’m busy with big breasts and adultery! Hey frog! I’m going back to the village! Melebu, use Ruura!”
Suzuki Ryohei, who played HK, expressed his joy at reprising the role after ten years: “Being able to play Hentai Kamen again after ten years was the greatest happiness for me. And to fight alongside the Yoshihiko party! The transformation, the roar, the ‘oinari-san’ — as soon as recording started, I thought, ‘This is it, this feeling,’ and the days of righteous battle came flooding back. I sincerely thank Keroro Gunsou for reminding me of that passionate sense of justice.”

Oguri Shun (Sakata Gintoki) said in character, “They just told me to show up and do it because everyone gathered. So I reluctantly did it. I have no attachment to it. I’m sorry for intruding. It’s probably going to be a hit, so give me more money. Anyway, thank you, Keroro Gunsouoooooo!”
Full Cast Comments
Yamada Takayuki (Yoshihiko)
Ten years have passed since we defeated the Demon King. We swore we would return someday as a movie. But that’s not what I meant! When I said “return” (kaeru), I didn’t mean “frog” (kaeru)! Why do I have to go on an adventure for a frog? I’m busy with big breasts and adultery! Hey frog! I’m going back to the village! Melebu, use Ruura!
Konan Haruka (Murasaki)
I never thought the day would come when the four of us would reunite again, so I was truly happy to meet again like this. It was amazing how everyone’s characters were exactly the same, as if ten years hadn’t passed, and I was surprised that each of them was still alive. I feel honored to have participated in this anime work as a member of the Keroro Gunsou family. I hope this film reaches many people — both those who were children back then and those who are children now.
Muro Tsuyoshi (Melebu)
Above all, I wanted to not intrude on the world of Keroro Gunsou, so I just hoped for a little bit of a crossing of world lines, and I participated. Standing with the Yoshihiko party again after so long, I was surprised at how perfectly the strange atmosphere and breathing matched, and I was convinced that those days still exist. Thank you for letting me participate. Hmm.
Satou Jirou (Hotoke)
It is an honor to be able to intrude even a little into the world of Keroro Gunsou. I’m always a half-baked Buddha who gets exasperated by the Yoshihiko party, but I hope I don’t get exasperated by Keroro. Please enjoy the new world of Keroro Gunsou to the fullest in theaters.
Takuma Shin (Danjou)
Director Fukuda has called me for several projects since Yoshihiko, but during the recording I got to see Yamada Takayuki, Konan Haruka, Muro Tsuyoshi, Satou Jirou, and Director Fukuda again, and I was truly happy to meet my old friends. It had been a while, but as always, with a low voice… a kind of “What?” feeling of a lazy Danjou. Unchanged. Please enjoy the main film with four times the absurdity of Yuusha Yoshihiko, Hentai Kamen, Gintama, and Keroro Gunsou.
Suzuki Ryohei (HK)
Being able to play Hentai Kamen again after ten years was the greatest happiness for me. And to fight alongside the Yoshihiko party! The long-awaited transformation, the long-awaited roar, the long-awaited “oinari-san.” As soon as recording started, I thought, “This is it, this feeling,” and the days of righteous battle came flooding back. I sincerely thank Keroro Gunsou for reminding me of that passionate sense of justice.
Oguri Shun (Sakata Gintoki)
They just told me to show up and do it because everyone gathered. So I reluctantly did it. I have no attachment to it. I’m sorry for intruding. It’s probably going to be a hit, so give me more money. Anyway, thank you, Keroro Gunsouoooooo!
Suda Masaki (Shimura Shinpachi)
Wow! In the world of Keroro Gunsou! Pekopon? Aliens? What role, Fukuda-san?! I was looking forward to it, and then… Gintama? Huh? I was happy to become Shinpachi again, but I also had to hear Sakaguchi-san’s voice and practice and vocalize, and then, into the world of Keroro Gunsou!! Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
Hashimoto Kanna (Kagura)
I never imagined the day would come when I would appear in Keroro Gunsou as Kagura, and only with my voice. When I received this offer from Director Fukuda, I was surprised — “Kagura in Keroro?” — but once recording started, the strange combination was so interesting that I felt it was a very Fukuda-like work. I enjoyed being able to participate a little in the world of Keroro Gunsou, and I hope both Keroro fans and Gintama fans will enjoy it.
Nakamura Kankurou (Kondou Isao)
When I received the offer to appear in Keroro Gunsou and read the script, I saw familiar faces. I had to check several times: “Is this really Keroro Gunsou?” When I went to record as Kondou Isao after so long, memories of the filming came back, and it was a nostalgic and fun recording session. This is a festival-like work that fans of Keroro Gunsou, Gintama, and Director Fukuda’s works will enjoy, so please enjoy it in theaters!
Yagira Yuuya (Hijikata Toushirou)
When I first heard about it, I heard that Director Fukuda was serving as general director for an anime, not a live-action film, and I honestly wondered what that meant. And when I learned it was Keroro Gunsou, loved by a wide range of generations, I thought, “This will be another work that Director Fukuda will liven up and make interesting.” Through this film, I think not only fans who have supported Keroro all along, but also many people who are newly interested and discover the charm of Keroro will appear. Please enjoy it in theaters!
Yoshizawa Ryo (Okita Sougo)
It’s been a long time since I played Okita, so I was surprised that my voice is different from what I expected. I had a little trouble remembering the old days, but I had fun recording. Many luxurious characters appear, so please watch it in theaters!
